General bad experience with KeyBank after new account opening and account promo was not applied. I opened the checking account online in November for the 300$ account promo. One single deposit of 1000$ or 2 single direct deposits equivalent to 1000$ or more. I am getting the run around since 12/22/24. One request after the other was put in for account review. My first initial direct deposit missed the 1000$ mark by 35$.
This bank is incompetent on every level possible, inconsiderate and cheap. There is no reason to screw with People's account promo, and incognito put 3 requests to not pay at the end at all.
Closed both checking and savings, and I will not waste my Time to deal with incompetence on this scale. I saw other reviews on Trust Pilot or HubWallet KeyBank is rated the worst, and that for many Reasons. Fabulous Banks out there, and they can keep their 300$ account promo and lose a customer in the process!
UPDATE!! After my negative Review was posted, someone reached out via email and case#. I emailed back and Executive Offices called me last week Wednesday 01/08/25. I advised what happened and I havent heard back from them since.
Therefore, 300$ Account Promo no one is competent enough to follow through or has a clue! The biggest Incompetence I have ever seen.

This branch has a great team and its great when everyone knows your name! I moved my business accounts first then personal accounts later. Online Banking is good and no crazy holds like large National Banks.

Menegers were always helpful, but the process of obtaining a cashback credit card can be lengthy and expiriense, not very positive, especially for US visitors (J1 or H1B visa). For example, my wife, who arrived in the United States two years after I did, and she received a credit card from Chase Bank faster than I, even though I had been a client of the KeyBank bank for four years with a good history. As I can see now, she has more benefits than I. In this particular location, they don't have restrooms for the clients (the cashier told me so).

Went in on a Saturday morning to change my legal name on my account and was told I needed to make an appointment. I live out of town so I took a special trip. I made an appointment and traveled all the way there just to be told the person I scheduled with “forgot to turn their schedule off for Saturday”. I left again without updating my information. Terrible location!!!

Worst bank in the world. Instead of solution KeyBank removed my reviews from my primary Google account. That's manipulation. Debra Manager, Paula from head office, never replied but lied. I have everything in my records. Full of lies and unethical. Disgusting ?????????
