Elyria Animal Hospital has long been a pillar of excellence in veterinary care, renowned for its exceptional services, compassionate care, and unwavering dedication to pets and their owners. The hospital's reputation is built on a foundation of trust, expertise, and an undeniable passion for animals, making it a premier choice for pet healthcare in the community.During my numerous visits, I've observed firsthand the lengths to which the staff goes to ensure each pet receives the highest level of care. They offer comprehensive examinations, utilizing the latest in veterinary technology, and always provide clear, thoughtful communication to pet owners about the diagnosis and treatment options. Their approach is holistic, focusing not just on treating symptoms but on ensuring the overall well-being and quality of life of every animal they care for.Regarding the recent negative review that criticized the hospital for its handling of a diagnostic request based solely on a cat urine sample, it's important to consider the broader context. Veterinary medicine, much like human medicine, relies on a combination of symptoms, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to accurately identify and treat health issues. A sample, while valuable, is often just one piece of the puzzle. The professional staff at Elyria Animal Hospital understands that a thorough examination is crucial for an accurate diagnosis, reflecting their commitment to the health and safety of the pets they treat. It's also worth noting that the individual who left the negative review appears to have a history of posting exclusively negative comments across various services. This pattern might suggest a predisposition towards dissatisfaction, which unfortunately can detract from the credibility of their critiques. In contrast, the overwhelming majority of feedback about Elyria Animal Hospital from numerous other sources is overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the hospital's dedication, professionalism, and compassion. The claim that the hospital is solely motivated by money is unfounded and unfair. The care and attention provided by the Elyria Animal Hospital staff clearly demonstrate their primary concern is for the health and well-being of the animals. They offer transparent pricing and work with pet owners to find the best treatment options within their budgets, always prioritizing the animal's needs. In conclusion, Elyria Animal Hospital is a testament to what veterinary care should be: professional, compassionate, and dedicated to the well-being of pets. Their approach to care is comprehensive and grounded in a deep understanding of the needs of animals and their owners. For anyone seeking top-notch veterinary services, Elyria Animal Hospital remains a distinguished and trusted choice.

They are so expensive and charge for EVERYTHING!! I took my cats stool there that had blood in it and and they lost it and it never got resolved. I take urine up for a urinalysis on my baby girl and they couldn't give me the results without charging me for an office visit AFTER telling me the doctor would review the results and get back with me but when I called he could only tell me the results at an office visit!! ALL ABOUT $$!! NOT ABOUT THE CARE OF THE ANIMALS My daughter has lice and I'm literally combing them out this very moment and they still insisted I have to come in for an appointment......smhUPDATE: Since I couldn't make the Friday afternoon appointment because it took way longer than I expected to deal with the lice, and because of this review were Janette's exact words, they no longer will give me the urinalysis results unless I "pay" for it and suggested I take my animals elsewhere. Lol I already planned on that after the experience I have had with them. My kitten had surgery there and had to repeatedly take her back in because the incision opened up. They said someone was taking the cone off her neck and Janette said "well im going to put it on here so if it comes off this time, I know someone took it off!" Guess what, Madea got it off within 8 hours AGAIN! SMH ITS ALL ABOUT THE $$ HERE!! NOT ABOUT THE ANIMALS!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!

I drive 40 minutes to still bring all of my animals here because I consistently have a great experience. My GSD is nervous sometimes, and she has very little issue going here because they are gentle and accommodating with her. I enjoy working with everyone there.

I experienced an emergency while driving. My beloved Belvedere somehow managed to get his back leg stuck in my purse clasp. He was yelping, and I could not get it free. It was horrible and scary. I know you're thinking, how does it happen? I still don't know how he did it. I knew I was close to the Elyria Animal Hospital. Belvie is not a patient, but it was an emergency. I was a hot mess, crying, and they quickly and calmly took care of the situation. They were able to cut the metal clasp off his back leg. They even called to check on him the next day. They were all so kind and compassionate to the situation at hand. What a fantastic place and people. Thank you so much for helping me in a time of extreme need.

Our dogs rash and allergies got to a point where he was in pain and discomfort. The two other local vets we traditionally use were booked for at least a week and wouldn't get us in. A call to Elyria Animal Hospital in the morning resulted in their being able to see him that afternoon. Staff was great, Dr was very friendly and helpful even when my dog didn't want to cooperate. Happy to say my dog is back on his way to feeling better. We will definitely be back with our other pets for vet services.

I used to really like this place. Would bring my dog here for her shots & meds.My dog started to gain alot of weight and the Dr. Said I was feeding her too much. I cut down on her food and no reaction they kept saying "it was my fault and I was going to kill her".I took her to another vet and they did a simple blood test and she was diagnosed with a thyroid issue. It bothers me that this place never checked that therefore I won't be taking my animals back.My dog would probably be dead if it wasn't for this simple test at the other vet.

This place is so awesome, they have been seeing my babies ever since I got them as little puppies, they know them by name, when I call they know who I am talking about, they have been great especially when it came to emergency type stuff they were able to squeeze me in pretty fast! Am so thankful they take care of them they I would want them to be taking care of!

I scheduled an appt for my dog Bronx to be coming in tomorrow (5/26/23) and the girl that scheduled the appt was the nicest. Figured she deserved a rating for herself she was so nice and it makes such a difference speaking to a kind voice. Hopefully she is told how nice she was to me! We are excited to see the Dr tomorrow, hoping it is a good experience for it being my 2yo dogs 3rd ever vet visit! Hope they can clear his ears right up! ❤️Edit: My boyfriend didn’t have a good experience but I think it was due to us not knowing that they were going to give Bronx a yearly checkup as well which was our fault also for not being more clear in what we wanted. For his yearly check including all vaccines, his ear check for his yeast infection, and 2 medications the visit was $300 which I personally do not think was bad at all. The receptionists at the front desk when I went in to pay them were the sweetest ever and again I am sorry for any issues while I was not there! Thank you everyone!

My cat went in for emergency surgery Friday. It's now the following Monday (memorial day) and she's doing great. About as expensive as you would expect a vet to be.

Janet answered……. I was stressed over a “stray” cat……. She showed more compassion and kindness ….. took care of me first, made sure I was ok and then calmly and professionally directed me to appropriate name and number of who to contact…… this woman was amazing…… she shared some of her insight and knowledge….. all to help a stranger in need of assistance…..I need not say more…… truly above and beyond……. My mental health was touched by her kindness…. Thank you Janet………. Sincerely Donna
