I have a question..? So I have a dog and she's a really great dog. I just work 3rd shift and I can't properly take care of her. If I call this place will they find her a good home where she can get the love and attention she needs? I don't want her to get put down or anything like that. She truly is a good dog. Any feedback that will help me feel better about my decision would be great. Thanks.

From a volunteer perspective. Facility is great, they really care about their animals. But social media is an issue here. If staff does not like you, they will certainly make sure you know about it over FB. Katie Love, check your attitude and be nice. Your leadership stinks and have made my experience working with the shelter toxic. Rude. Nasty. You are a deterant when it comes to donations from my people anymore. Grow up.

Wow! I hadn't been to friendship animal protective League in a long time. I'm looking to adopt new cat. Everyone was so friendly and wonderful and the place was very clean and well kept. I didn't make a match this time but I will go back!

Wanted to like this place but two bad experiences and no return phone calls have made me realize the people who warn of Friendship APL are correct in doing so.

i tried to adopt a kitten a couple months ago from the elyria APL, and then was made very uncomfortable, and basically told not to get the kitten. the lady at the apl said that i shouldn’t take the kitten because it was bonded, which makes sense. but this was a baby kitten and would bond to any other cat they were with. they told me i could get any other kitten but not the one that i really really wanted and saw online. the post did not mention anything about them being bonded and said was spayed and ready to take home. she wouldn’t let me see the kitten, and instead took me into another room to have me look at adult cats and even made me hold one. after giving me the cat to hold, she left the room. don’t get me wrong, i would take home every cat if i could, but i wanted the kitten i came there to get. after a couple minutes she came back and took the cat away from me and put her away. we went back into the room with the kitten, and the other lady was telling me that the original lady was just very protective over the kitten cause it was her foster kitten. but that doesn’t make sense why you wouldn’t want it to go to a good home and get adopted. she then came back into the room and continued to tell me that i shouldn’t take this kitten and that i’m not ready for it and such. i left because i was uncomfortable with the way this lady was talking to me and making me feel like i wasn’t going to be a good fit for this kitten. i was planning on going the next morning, right when they opened, so i could come and get the kitty. when i called they said she wasn’t there anymore, which we were there right when they were closing the day before, so i couldn’t get her. i was so very sad and very disappointed. i won’t ever adopt from there. i ended up getting a cat from the cleveland APL which was so effortless and so great. i love my cat now, but it still was a really bad experience and i thought i would share.

Everyone there was so nice. They gave me plenty of time to spend with my potential dog. It's a very clean place the animals seem happy. And I left with my forever friend. His name is cricket and he is doing great.

Adopted a great pup from here. Staff are all very attentive and friendly. They take good care of all their shelter animals and I’d adopt from them again in the future.
