We take our dogs here for grooming all the time, but the last time we took them in, we had the fortune experience of getting groomer, Allison S., for all 3 dogs. She was professional and experienced. She had them done on time and didn’t miss anything. Our difficult, deaf Australian Shepherd is very difficult to groom and she was even able to get her done. Absolutely outstanding!

I want to let you know of the awful experience we had at your store: 660 Chestnut Commons Dr Elyria, OH 44035. My wife and I stopped by since we were next door at T-Mobile. We had plan on spending money on bird food and then saw this store had Ferrets again. We were excited. We bought our first furball at this store when it first opened. Sarge passed away about a month ago. Well, this store had one that looked just like him. The male associate who was walking by, we stopped him and asked if we could hold and pet the ferret. He said NO. It's flu season so we don't let customers pet the ferrets. He stated, "I'm not being mean" and just walked away. This is terrible customer service. This store lost out on a purchase now and in the future. You lost a customer due to this.

Would give 0 stars if possible. First off, the only way you can schedule a grooming appointment is online. I scheduled an appointment 2 days prior. I have an anxious/reactive dog and i tried to call the store like 4 different times throughout those 2 days to double check they were comfortable taking her/get on the same page. Nobody ever answered and I never got a call back. When we got there for appointment they refused my dog. The girl i talked to was SO rude. She literally mocked me when I told her to not shove her hand in my dogs face and give her a minute to just sniff. She mocked me and then did exactly what I told her not to do. She was a young brunette girl. I didn’t catch her name. She then very rudely told us to leave. My thought process is like don’t work as a groomer if you don’t know how to deal with dogs with anxiety? And shame on the store for not answering the phone/returning my call. I even looked on the Petco website to make sure they work with anxious/reactive dogs before i brought her in. The website said they do.

I have nothing against the groomers at Petco in Chestnut Commons Elyria. I do have problems trying to get an appointment on line. When I call them personally, I have to leave a message and they promise to call back in a few hours. I called one morning, no call back. I called the next day and now it’s been several days, still no call back. I wonder how much business they lose because not a lot of older people have or know how to use the computer.

I take my dog here for grooming and the staff are always so nice. I love the convenience of Walmart and other places nearby to get errands done simultaneously!
