I try to patronize "mom and pops'" wherever geographically I am at that time of need, but especially in the community I find myself living in and spending a majority of my time. That said, I wandered into Wilkes with a question, the likes of which were admittedly ambiguous and given that my knowledge of the English languages' adjectives are nothing to write home about Jack, the apparent owner gave me the time of day and despite not ending up having the hardware I needed pointed me to a close location that had more chances of stocking what I needed. I ended up buying some WD-40, of which I have 5 cans of, from him anyway as a tip of the hat on my way out because it always feels good to wash each other's hands and if we're honest, WD-40 is hobbyists'/DIY'ers cheat code. Awesome local hardware store! Jack is super friendly, knowledgeable, and offers tons of good advice on maintaining equipment. He repaired my lawn mower completely and gave me tips on quality upkeep for the mower. Will definitely be going here for any tools/products before going to a big retail chain store, highly recommend coming here!

Very nice man owns the store, super friendly & helpful. I don't see a lot of customers when i go there, & if you don't know it's there, you could miss it.I always check to see if he has what i need, before going to Home Depot. I'll drive past them to go to him, because i feel he needs my money more the they do. You should check him out
