  We spent a little over 2 years at this facility and I can tell you all that my babies and our family as a whole had never felt so loved. I was a nursing student when we were a part of something special and in a high stress time of our lives, the staff in this facility showed us so much grace and love that going there felt like a second home for our littles. I am so very grateful to have met the beautiful people who worked at this facility during this time. I have never met a so loving and caring director (Joretta) who poured her soul into every child that walked through that door. Thank you all for making our years at something special so memorable.

  My child went to something special learning center for years. The teachers always provided great experiences for him. The administrator has always been so kind and very easy to talk to. You can tell she cares about her employees and children. So glad to have my child attend until he went to kindergarten.

  Joretta is the worst. I've had parents apologize for their child being apart of picking on my son and Joretta tried denying it in front of the owner. She lied and tried saying my son was the bully. If you speak to her and notice her inconsistencies speak out. If you notice how the staff speak to the other children speak out. If you notice bullying speak out. One star for the good employees that were there. Shame on you Joretta! She even tried denying an incident where her staff yelled at a little girl saying, "little girls don't do that only little boys, are you a boy?" I told joretta of this incident and when brought up later she pretended to not remember. Or maybe her memory is going, that would be more understandable than protecting the little staff she has had in the past. The woman still worked there when Joretta said she was tired of me always telling her about her and her staff and how they treat the children. The very first incident my son had told me this little boy touched his privates my son's father and I spoke to her and her response was, "I've known that little boy since he was an infant I could not see him doing something like that." Then when she seen our reaction she changed to say she'd look into it but without know the time and date she wouldn't be able to find it on the cameras. As a mother I ask you to protect yourselves from ppl like her always have a witness and if need be recordings of all interactions. Keep documentation of the incident reports and if you notice markings on your child ask questions they are supposed to do incident reports for markings that are left. The one where my son was hit with an object they did not do an incident report since it did not leave a mark, but the mother of the child informed me of her son being apart of the bullying and assault. I blame myself for not taking it legally further bc I thought the daycare was a safe haven but never again.

  Staff is obnoxious and rude. Doesn't take long to realize you need to switch childcare.

  The first incident that I can remember is where a little boy accidentally/purposely grabbed my son on his privates when they were playing at daycare under Something Special Learning Center's care. As a concerned parent and being told about this incident, I went and spoke to Joretta. When I had brought up the incident to Joretta upon hearing the name of the child, she instantly said that she couldn't believe that boy did such a thing. It was troubling to me that she'd instantly dismissed my child's side. I explained that the boy most likely didn't understand or know what he was doing, but if she could look into it. She said she'd let the employee know working in that age group to keep an eye out. There were times when staff spoke to the children in ways where if the parents of that child were there, they would not have. I brought one incident to Joretta where one of the preschool teachers told a little girl, "Girls don't act like that. That's how boys act." She was correcting a little girl from the prek 1/prek 2 area while I was walking thru to the prek3 area. I assumed the little girl was misbehaving, and the teacher wanted her to stop, but instead of doing so, she made the action wrong for girls, but ok for boys to do. Joretta said she'd speak to staff.On one pick-up day, I came in to prek 3 to see my son being apologized to by a young boy while his mom stood next to them. I asked the mom if everything was ok, and she told me, "I did not know my son was a bully, and I was having him apologize." She had let me know of an incident that had occurred between our boys and another where the two boys were bullying son. I spoke to my son, then the teacher in charge. Apparently, they were hitting my son with a toy, and the teacher only saw the end of the incident because of how loud the smacking/hitting was. I was NEVER notified by staff nor Joretta about this incident and probably would have NEVER known about it if it wasn't for the awesome parenting of that mom. Thank you to that mom and for raising your son to be a better person. I spoke and let Joretta know of this incident. I found every time I had a concern and I brought it to Joretta, she gave off the feeling, "Here go again." Or "here's this parent with her 'concerns'" so now that my son is 5 and starting kindergarten, I placed an app on his phone where it could track his location, the speed he's traveling, if he was in an accident, and even where if the child isn't responding you can listen to the noise around the phone. The first time I used this app, he was on SSLC's bus on their way back from Liberty-benton school. He is not allowed to be using it since it is only for emergencies. The app showed he was somewhere that appeared to be stuck in traffic, but then it was saying he was walking, so I checked in. You could hear he was on the bus playing with his phone with the little kids. I went back on the map, and it showed he was traveling and on his way back to the daycare. So I waited and spoke to him about his phone use and reminded him he's not supposed to be on it just for emergencies. A few days go by, and once again, I'm waiting at the daycare for my son's bus. I checked the app, and it shows he's walking again, so I go on the audio to make sure that isn't the case. At first, it sounded like it was out, and I thought I had to have another conversation, but I heard distortion to where it made it seem like it was in his backpack, but in that time I overheard a conversation I felt was not age appropriate.The teacher informed me later that my son wasn't behaving during the rr tracks, I corrected my son and had him apologize the next day to the bus driver. Days go by. I follow up to check in she tells me of a different issue,we're talking, and I bring up the app.The next morning, Joretta confronts me about the app I agree to not use the audio during their care issue was dropped, during pick up she told me the children
