Working with Jozie and the rest of the staff at Herman-Karlobetz made the funeral process much easier than anticipated. They were kind, professional, provided support, and connected us to other businesses in the area to make everything fairly seamless. At a time when thinking through so many details seems impossible, they were there to help. We were thankful to work with them, and celebrate my mom’s life without worry!

I was very disappointed with the professionalism displayed during the timing of my husbands’ passing. When I called the funeral home 30 minutes after they received his body, his sister had already given them pertinent information and had instructed a funeral home in Flint, MI to come get his body. I was able to stop that initial transferring of his body for I AM his WIFE. The staff of the funeral home stated they were told his sister was next to Kin even though they asked me to confirm my maiden name that they received from his sister for the death certificate. His sister gave my name for married to her brother but had them put “Married but Separated “. I asked the staff to take that off, (3 times) they said his sister said “under no circumstances should they remove the “but separated “ part”. On Sunday, the very next day, I decided to allow his sister to handle the arrangements due to the situation getting ugly. The staff at the funeral home said since I allowed her to make the arrangements they have to honor her information on the death certificate. Since when does a sister override a wife!! Though “separated” is not a legal term, there’s no need for that to be on there. His sister has been miserable and evil ever since I met her and she continues with her negative behavior. The staff at the funeral home should have never taken information from a bitter, evil, miserable and untrustworthy person as his sister, especially over his legal wife. People had begun asking for programs on the day of the funeral and they were still being printed off. On Wednesday the day of the first showing, there were no programs ready at all, he had friends come from Cleveland so I had to put them copies in the mail. The funeral home did not transport the beautiful flowers my mother and I bought to his other service in Flint. People made it clear that Wonderly-Horvath does a better, more professional job and I was able to experience that. So, if you’re in need of a funeral home to take care of your loved one, try Wonderly-Horvath . Professionalism goes a long way and YOU dropped the ball entirely. I had the most comforting and professional experience working with Rebecca and Emma and the staff a Herman- Karlovetez Funeral Home. Rebecca would text me and I might not respond until after midnight, Rebecca would return my text message right away even 1-2 AM in the morning. Rebecca and her team made sure everything that our family needed was taken care of with grace and professionalism. She even helped making sure my brothers body was transported to Michigan without and problem. I can't say enough about her kindness and genuine support that she showed our family during this difficult time. Rebecca and her staff definitely helped us get through it. Our recent experience with Herman-Karlovetz was nothing short of seamless. From the initial appointment to the very end, we had no worries about any of the necessary steps to give our lovely Mom the send-off she deserved. It was pleasant working with the employees of Herman-Karlovetz, through an ordeal such as losing a father. Everyone we had contact with, was comforting, gracious, and most helpful. A special thank you to Amanda Herman, who was most involved with my family. She listened to our banter, and crafted a beautiful obituary and tribute video. Herman Karlovetzs is a wonderful place. They made a difficult time easier. By answering all of our questions and requests. If I had any issues they would find out quickly and address them. The staff is kind and caring. I am pre-planning my services to make sure that my children do not have to make any unnecessary arrangements or questions about what kind of service it has to be.
