I came here based on reviews and close location to my home. I was disappointed in my services. The place seemed dirty and nearly empty. My tech was lovely, but my “dry manicure” was painful and included no hand massage or moisturizing and left me in pain. That pedicure was also average at best. I’m giving two stars because my tech was fun to talk to.

I'm giving 2 stars because I felt rushed, I wasn't happy with my nails and had to file them from poking me, and the dip felt uneven and thick. But just because I had a bad experience doesn't mean it isn't worth trying. They have beautiful nail art on inatagram, the receptionist was sweet, and they are knowledgeable about the products.
I came to Shiny Nails about 3 weeks ago for my first time getting my nails done. I had done my research and decided dip with an extension was what I wanted. The booking was super easy and the receptionist was sweet, even reassuring me that the person would take good care of me. I wasn't happy with how my nails turned out though and felt rushed by my nail tech.
Right off the bat I felt rushed to pick a color. I did bring my own nail polish to match, which my nail tech matched pretty well with what was available. He wasn't very gentle with my hands and I felt tugged on twisted during the session. When I told him that when I bite my nails, he had mentioned several times throughout how bad it is and how I shouldn't do that. I was pretty embarrassed because yeah I know that. I'm here to feel prettier not to feel guilty about an anxious habit I can't control. My nails tech did do a quick nail art even though I didn't schedule it. He also found me a small bottle of cuticle oil to buy and use.
Less of an issue but was strange. Our conversation also felt rushed and occasionally I was talked over. I learned a lot about my nail tech, which I enjoy, but it felt so fast.
The shape looked frumpy and it wasn't even. Close to the base there was a thicker amount, and then a dip, then back to thick before thinning out at the tip. The nail was also not filed well at the tip and was poking my finger tips on multiple nails. I ended up reshaping it in my car because I just wanted to get out of there. I was so mentally drained from the speed of things.
Overall, I won't go back because there are so many nail salons in and around Columbus. Maybe Shiny Nails is your favorite go-to place, which is perfect. I just need to find my own perfect place.

Respectfully, I don't know how this place received 4.7 stars. I googled nail salons in Gahanna, and this was the highest rated salon that appeared.
Today my best friend and I went for my birthday. I had a gel manicure and she had a gel x manicure. The salon smelled like mildew. We proceeded in because we understand that building things happen but still an unpleasant smell.
My manicurist didn't remove my nail polish too well. It was black polish that stained some of my skin. Next, she drilled my nails to buff them, but proceeded to push back and cut my cuticles without soaking/softening them. She did a good job with the cut, but I would have liked having my cuticles properly prepped. I asked for cat eye nails; the gel application was fine, but there isn't a clear definition of the cat eye design. It mostly just looks like silver nail polish. The skin around my nails was not properly cleaned up so the job looks messy overall, and there is a buble in one of my nails.
My friend's manicurist also did not properly prep her cuticles and crookedly applied some of her gel extensions. Her manicurist only applied two coats of polish so you can see through the nail. The shape was done well, but the skin around her nails was not properly cleaned either.
The manicurists were nice, and we spent less than an hour getting our nails done; but the jobs looked like something you could do at home or a beauty school, and it most certainly was not worth $170+ (tip excluded). Now before you go saying, "well, was it busy, and why did you pay?"
There was only one other patron in the salon, and sometimes, immediate confrontation can be hard for me, so I offer this honest review as some consolation for myself and a directive for someone thinking of going to Shiny Nails.
All in all, my friend and I will not be returning.

Been coming to Shiny Nails for almost 4 years now and I have never had a bad experience. From basic manis to any design you can think of, they can do it all! Highly recommend Emily but every tech is exceptional! You will not be disappointed choosing Shiny Nails!

I went to Shiny Nails after hearing amazing reviews about the establishment. Staff was very friendly but I was charged $107.00 for a gel (jelly) pedicure that was the worst pedicure of my life. Gel looked like an amateur applied it, nails are all uneven, none of my dead skin was filed off and overall the pedicure was poor. Nice young person (A) was my nail person. Looks like my niece did them.Service: Pedicure

I am not one to post things but extremely disappointed in the gel. I had to go back in the next day to get them redone. Over the weekend most of them peeled off. Top layers smudgy. Left residue on my hands.

I absolutely love Shiny Nails! I’ve been going to this nail salon for 10 years. Always feel so welcomed and taken such great care of while I’m there. Every staff member is wonderful and attentive.
