Well… today I decided to take my daughter (who is visiting from Clearwater) to Bobs market in Gallipolis. I love to get flowers there- and we drove an hour to get there. We also took a neighbor and we were excited. My daughter needed to use the restroom when we arrived. She asked the clerk- who informed her there were no restrooms in a very unpleasant tone. I was really shocked- as we were going to buy a lot of flowers and needed some time to look around. I asked another employee and she said “no, it’s just for us.” I told her we had driven an hour to get there… and they just didn’t care. We were customers. Customers who came an hour to patronize their establishment. Never again. So much for a small town friendly business. I’ll go somewhere else where I will be treated with respect.

Beautiful flowers at a great price. Flower blossoms are larger and fuller than Columbus flowers, maybe because you are 2 weeks farther along in the season than Columbus, but your prices are better too.

Bob's Market and Greenhouse has an excellent selection of affordable plants suitable for the Gallipolis garden, and knowledgeable staff on-hand to answer your questions. I was particularly impressed by their reasonably-priced selection of healthy summer tropicals, including Canary island date palms, hibiscus, bougainvilleas, gardenias, lantanas, ixoras, strelitzias, Confederate jasmines, yellow tecomas, and durantas -- their spring 2022 offerings. They offer musa acuminata "Dwarf Cavendish" banana plants as all-year-round in-the-ground hardy banana plants for the adventurous gardener, and suggest mulching for over-wintering. Locally I'd suggest they could also easily offer the much more dramatic, clumpy musa basjoo "Japanese fiber banana" or towering ensete glaucum "snow banana" which could grow with no protection (Japanese fiber banana) or mulching (snow banana). The extremely hardy little musella lasiocarpa (golden lotus banana) would be a VERY attractive dwarf banana, with its LARGE golden bloom, to offer to experimental gardeners as a feature perennial. Yah, I am a bit of an Ohio banana nut. ? I grow m. basjoo 150 miles to the northeast in two locations just using the heat from my foundation to overwinter them. I'm lazy too! ?They lost a star because their watering hoses and organizational skills don't seem to reach the back half of their outdoor lot? My friend and I spent a bit of our time righting shrubs and trees, sitting bushes back on stands, on a non-windy day. Sorry, we didn't water. ? It was the only flaw in what otherwise seems to be an excellent nursery! ?

Lots of selection. Prices can be a bit confusing but they have a lot of different items so I'm sure it's hard to keep everything marked individually.

They have a huge selection with a lot of friendly and knowledgeable staff. The prices are slightly higher than some of the other locals though.
