Let me tell y’all somethin’ right now: Rural King is like the redneck version of Disney World, only with more mud boots and less mouse ears. I walked in there for a bag of dog food and walked out with a machete, three ratchet straps, a 50-pound salt block, a bag of popcorn, and a flamingo pool float. I don't even got a pool. That store's got everything from baby chicks to camouflage lingerie (okay maybe not, but it should).
The minute them automatic doors whooshed open and I smelled tractor grease and stale popcorn, I knew I was home. It's like heaven had a baby with a barn and stocked it with guns, boots, candy by the pound, and chainsaws you didn’t know you needed but suddenly had to have.
Now, I got one beef with 'em: the damn chick bin. Every dang time we go in, my wife beelinin’ straight to them peepin’ little fluff nuggets like she’s Snow White with a debit card. She can’t resist ‘em. I’m out here tryin’ to get hydraulic fluid and she’s already named twelve chicks and is askin’ if we can build 'em bunk beds.
Rural King, I love ya, but for the love of my wallet and sanity, can we get a “Wife-B-Gone” spray aisle? Maybe throw some razor wire and a mild electric fence ‘round the chick section so I don’t end up explainin’ to my accountant why we now own 37 hens named after country singers.
10 outta 10, would lose money there again.

I am 2nd time Cust to RK. I was told of the store by a contractor working on my our home. My wife & made it there for flowers before I did. I'm somewhat the type if it ain't broke don't fix it.
So being new to area and a long time TSC Cust in TX & MO as well as propane for RV while camping & other necessities. I went to the local TSC. Sadly I must say (3) times failures that shouldn't have been if the cust Svc knew there job. Each time involved my wife going to the store, to pick up something I needed.
As a cust and having to return something that was wrong, is a new win situation. The reward program they offer isn't worth to much, as well as other retail outlets with reward program. No one's rewards can make up for the inflation spike.
Well, with the disappointment at the local TSC (from a "Few not all employees not having knowledge of basics in there products)
It was time to leave a long time store, I had enjoyed going into and check out RK.
My experience upon entering the store I was greeted by Juanita and approached with a smile & upbeat personality and asked the normal question, " Do you have a CC w/RK"? Nope, never in a RK. Explained what I needed and it was a list involving several different sections through out the store.
Juanita, was very helpful and pointed out the areas.
I explained about my disability, no problem I will have help or she will help me. I agreed to do accept the CC offer which 99% I reject. Especially after becoming disabled, I can only stand so long. As well as very limited to weight I can lift.
She ended up taking me to a couple areas as well as meeting other employees, with knowledge as well as upbeat. There competitor, employees were less up beat, less knowledgeable and harder to find on the floor. Over all less staff, less products as well. And RK will match a lower price if you find and item for less.
Out with the old & in with the new ?

I had placed a call with almost 2hrs in advance and requested 14 of a product. I was assured they had the product and it would be pulled for me and would be ready. Upon arrival the product had been sold out along with my request not pulled!! We do not live close to this store so the travel is over an hour long to get there. I had more to buy but obviously I wasn't spending my money there. Thanks for nothing.

Dont get me wrong they have a very wide selection of nice merchandise. The ONLY reason I hate going here is because every single time I try to find someone to help me with finding items or questions it's a case of pointing and saying it's over on isle yadayada or they act as if they do not hear me. Gets me agitated to the point if I can not find it on my own I will go somewhere else to find it or order it online.
