Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park spans over 8,000 acres of forest, prairies, wetlands, and the Big and Little Darby creeks, which are Scenic Rivers. The park features over 1,600 acres of restored wetlands and prairies, and reintroduced bison roam freely in two enclosed pastures. Visitors enjoy the beautiful, well-maintained trails suitable for all fitness levels, making it perfect for quiet walks with friends or dogs. The park is appreciated for its scenic beauty, space, and nature, making it a popular spot for church functions, baptisms, and family outings. The nature center is well done, and the trails are enjoyable. While the park is highly recommended, some note that ranger visits are less frequent compared to other parks, which may affect safety if someone gets lost. Overall, Battelle Darby Creek offers a peaceful and scenic environment for outdoor activities and nature appreciation.
It's absolutely a great park to walk the designated trails.
