Burr Oak State Park is a nice, peaceful, and beautiful state park. The grounds are very clean and well taken care of, offering a well cleaned and cared for campground. The campground is small and moderately rustic, with fairly spacious tent-only sites set apart from noisy RVs. While lake views from sites may be obscured by trees, the lake itself is gorgeous and peaceful, perfect for boating and fishing. The park has so much to offer, including a swimming beach, an indoor pool at the lodge, a nature center, volleyball and basketball courts, disc golf, and a ridiculous 20+ mile lakeside trail that is rugged and charming. The location is remote, so preparation is advised. The office staff is super friendly and helpful. It is a wonderful place for a family reunion or a long weekend, providing an amazing experience that lives up to anticipation.
