The Herlihy moving team was hard working, courteous, and careful. They made a challenging move less stressful and were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Herlihy Moving and Storage.

The team at Herlihy moved my mom from out of state to Columbus. They were fantastic early during planning as well as on both ends of the move.

Our move could not have gone better. From scheduling to delivery, this team was friendly, professional, accommodating and very flexible. They arrived on time and packed our belongings with care. Everything arrived on time with nothing broken (a first). Moving is stressful and this team did everything they could to ensure we had a positive experience! Kudos!

If possible I'd give them zero stars. Worst moving experience ever. Do yourself a favor and hire any one other than Herlihy Moving and storage.

Herlihy moving was awesome! They were very professional and organized leading up to the move and kept us updated throughout the process. We also had a pool table which required a third-party contractor to assemble and balance. Herlihy was able to arrange that contractor and work with them directly, so it was a seamless process. Our two movers were Tamir and Bryan who were both super nice and worked incredibly hard.

Terrific communication, timely and professional...exactly what one wants in a moving company. Helped move several large pieces of furniture between a couple residences. Highly recommend them.

Herlihy came highly recommended though we, unfortunately, had a terrible experience. The movers were inexperienced, did not work together to move things (resulting in nearly every item being damaged), and disappeared from the job for over two hours without warning. When we called corporate to see what was going on, we were told the movers did not secure the ramp that is used to load the truck and it flew off on the highway. Apparently, they then were driving around (with our belongings in the truck) searching for the 2,000lbs ramp and when they couldn't find it they had to drive 45 min away to get a new one. Not only were nearly ALL our items damaged (ripped fabric in the couch, huge scratches across antiques, etc.) but they also didn't fully unload and had to come the next day with items they found when cleaning the truck. They also put a big hole in the wall of the home we were moving out of.

David, Austin, and Shane arrived on time yesterday and professionally introduced themselves. My 90 year old Mother was moving out of her home after 62 years. They were very patient with her and when needed were helpful rearranging her furniture. They took great care with her furniture and "treasures." Nothing was damaged and they provided a great service. I would highly recommend Herlihy!

Our move was a long-distance move, from Columbus, OH area to San Diego, CA area. Herlihy has bad communication problems. We were told that our price would be lower if we packed some of our things; didn't happen. We were told we could leave things in dresser drawers, that the packers would tie them down; didn't happen. We were told that our price could go down if we ended up with substantially fewer boxes than in the estimate (estimated 129 boxes, final total 102); didn't happen. Because of this disinformation, we gave away many things we could (and should) have brought with us, wasted time and energy packing boxes that were subsequently repacked, and were left scrambling to grab undies at the last minute. We were NOT told to put everything we would need for the next week's drive to CA in "do not pack" areas, such as the refrigerator, the kitchen table, the beds---until the packers arrived. That did not give us enough time to organize; it should have been told us earlier. We were NOT told that aerosols, oils, candles, batteries and anything in the refrigerator would not be packed. Pre-packing day information would have made the move go much more smoothly. Instead, we were both wrecks. They did not even communicate among themselves. First, the relocation consultant failed to list our move on the move coordinator's calendar. Then came the biggest communication disaster: the packers said the movers would ID all of our boxes with stickers, and so they left without putting our name or identifying sticker on any of the 102 boxes. Two days later, the movers arrived on time, but refused to put any of the boxes on the truck because they were not identified. Another team of packers had to be called in to ID the boxes with stickers before the movers would touch them. The head mover said that he had never seen anything like that in his 37 years of moving. Our packers were interested only in speed. They asked no questions, just scooped everything up---even the slippers I removed for two minutes when I was called outside! (I know; I should have put them in the refrigerator.) They packed almost-empty cereal boxes, stuffed the bottoms of wardrobe boxes 2/3 full of non-clothing items, so the clothes on hangars were badly wrinkled, and even wrapped a Zero Water pitcher with the water still in it! They were messy and left pop cans and wads of tape everywhere. As for damage, three lampshades were smashed, a magazine rack knob was broken off, and the frame of a document signed by John F. Kennedy designating my husband's father as postmaster is missing a large chunk. We turned these in for damages and received compensation for them. Even the owners are poor communicators. I wrote two letters about this shoddy move to James Herlihy. I sent the second letter certified, return receipt requested. He has never responded. Herlihy is in the service business, and is supposed to offer service and guidance throughout the moving process. We feel that we grossly overpaid for the lack of service and lack of guidance we received. Moving is hard, but it doesn't have to be this hard. We are disappointed with Herlihy Moving and Storage, and we cannot recommend them to friends or review them in a positive light.

This was nothing short of a wonderful experience! Marcus, Ryan, Ben and Brandyn were everything you could ask for when moving. They handled a family heirloom as if it were their own. They were diligent, on task consistently, and extremely polite. In this current environment, you are blessed to have employees who represent your company in this manner. 10 stars if I could!

David’s crew were polite, personable, and incredibly efficient. They did a two day job in one, which saved me from taking another day off work. I would definitely recommend using them for your next move.

We needed to move out of our rental house and put our items in temporary storage before moving into our new home. We worked with Brandon ahead of time to plan the process. The moving team that unpacked and moved our belongings into our new home were attentive, helpful, and professional, but even they seemed shocked at the complete mess that the team that came to pack our belongings did.Boxes that had fragile written on them were crushed. We couldn't reassemble our shelves because they lost entire corner sections. Dishes and family heirloom pottery were broken and packed into giant boxes that weighed over 100 lbs. They seemed to take joy in doing a terrible job--at one point we unwrapped a single plastic lighter that had been wrapped in twenty layers of wrapping paper in a box with broken dishes they hadn't even bothered to wrap...When we went through the house after they left, there were two closets that were completely unpacked and full of jackets. They didn't pack up anything under the sink or under the stove. They also charged us for packing materials they never used (such as charging us for two twin mattress bags and we don't own twin beds). There was no supervision or management of the packing team. It was like unleashing malicious children on all of our belongings. Herlily did refund the packing material overcharge and recommended we file for insurance reimbursement. I just don't understand the complete lack of management and professionalism in their packing team. You shouldn't need to get insurance to cover mismanagement. I can't recommend them to others.
