I used Apple Pay to pay for gas and it declined. As I was outside on the phone the cashier came and told me I had $20 on the pump. I asked if it went through she said no someone paid for you. I tear up because that was so nice of someone and I was already having a rough enough morning. Well I get home and I’m trying to figure out why this card declined and I see 2 transactions. 1 for the money getting deposited onto the card and 2 Thorntons taking the money for the transaction. I called the store all day and got no answer. I try calling one more time and I got an answer. I tried to explain what was going on to ask who I may need to talk to and I was cut off immediately and told “ain’t nothin I can do for you you need a manager” so I ask if a manager is there I’m told “nope” “well yeah” this person must have been having a bad day because their tone and the way they talked to me was extremely rude. Now I don’t even want to go in to the store because she can’t hang up on me there and I don’t have the energy to argue with an employee who clearly shouldn’t be in customer service. When choosing who you hire you should actually interview and not just choose someone because it’s a body there. SMH do better!! Talk to people how you would want to be talked to. I didn’t think I had to tell an adult that but here we are.

I've gone twice and the door is locked with a sign on it. Pretty disappointing that it seems like a regular problem.

My wife and I stopped here and purchased over $30 in gas. I went inside to use the restroom. The men’s restroom was out of order, so I asked if I could use the women’s restroom since it was unoccupied. The cashier refused. My wife then asked and was immediately allowed in, proving the restroom was available but denied to me. At 67, with health issues that make restroom access urgent, this was not only unfair but distressing. Gender-based discrimination is unacceptable — and it is against the law. Customers deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion.

Went last night and got two slushes and a slim jim went to pay told the cashier that its says right here under counter that it's 2.19 she then comes around around the counter snatches the tag and puts t in her pocket with and attitude and says now what and didn't change the price so then I told her she needed to check all the pricing tags and correct them as I left she decided to tell the costumer that was next in line that was also a family friend that I needed to check my mouth or she was gonna check it for me and my family friend then told her I know that women the lady at the counter was very unprofessional and rude

The manager enjoys being argumentative with people. She is incompetent as a customer service representative and manager.
This is all over a pick 3 lottery ticket that I wanted for miday and forgot to mention (because she was talking) before she printed just one (1) ticket. And, just after I said, make it for miday, she immediately got aggressive and argumentative and did not stop even after I walked out the door.
03/15/23
I go in for a cup of water, the manger approached me to let me know that she spoke with her manager and corporate and said to me that they agreed on "We aren't going to sell you lottery tickets anymore, I said that's fine, I already told you I will go elsewhere for my lottery" (where people are more intelligent and competent and not so ignorant at their job) and walked away to pay for my water while she continues to tell me that I am not allowed in the store anymore and that if I do come back I would be arrested for trespassing.
All this over lottery tickets and customer service ignorance.
UPDATED 08/21/2024:
New incident, after returning the store after the manger mentioned above is no longer there.
I again have been told not to trespass after a cashier tried robbing me by charging me more for a product than she should have.
The manager was called to the front counter to charge me the correct price and a policeman was also in the store and heard this cashier robbing me but yet takes the cashiers side and I am the one told not to come back in the Thortons store @ 1550 Grand BLVD. Hamilton, OH. or I would be charged for trespassing.
Now, who are the true criminals/demons.
I guess, It's easier to throw me out than it is to hire a new honest cashier that won't try and rob people.
This no trespassing is also, a message straight from the regional manger who says the corporate office is in agreement with them as well.
WOW, such nasty police/people/criminals.

I go to Thorntons because I get discount on fuel with rewards. But when rewards are off line the store is not clean, restrooms are trashed and customer service is lacking I go to another station like speedway where I also get a discount and you loose a fuel sale and maybe a sale from the store. Very disappointing....
