Pool is nice, but can get overcrowded, if someone has the clubhouse rented there has been issues where the said person thinks the pool is rented for them as well. The hallways smell like cigarettes and weed. We literally have plug ins in the wall outside the door. Rent is insanely increased every year, no upgrades at all. There should be stop signs at the crossings, to many people pull out without looking. There is only one space most of the time to drop off garbage which overflows at least once a month. The carpet that is installed is never installed correctly, I laid carpet for years, the tack strips are exposed and you will get your feet pricked by them as you are walking into another room. The carpet seams pull apart, the carpet around the walls pull up and rip up. Constant plumbing and drain smells, drain flies even after being cleaned with solution monthly. The Livingroom set ups are hard to work with. If you have kids, there is no sidewalks, you cannot ride bikes, there is no playground. Other than the pool and basketball court that's as much as they have for the kiddos. Do not drink the water, smells awful, but i think that's all of Harrison.
I really think overall the place is nice, no crime, never had a break in. However, the price is so high, if you rent, be prepared that it will raise about $100 a year if you sign a new lease.
Positives:
1. I don't ever hear noise from other apartments, the people in my building are nice, never any issues other than smells (to be expected).
2. Leasing office is very nice, never had an issue.
3. Maintenance is always respectful, best maintenance staff currently, in the past.. not so much. THEY SHOULD MAKE THEM WEAR BOOTIES OVER THEIR SHOES SO OUR FLOORS ARE NOT RUINED/DIRTY.
4. The pool is a great amenity.
5. Fireplace is pretty, however if you use it, prepare for your electric bill to be $100 more than usual.
6. property is very clean.
I hope this is helpful, honest review.

I wanted to wait until I lived here for at least a month to post this. But overall, I'm extremely happy with this apartment & the property management company. The office staff is really nice & they treat you like a real person. Maintenance responded to both my tickets super fast, they're very helpful/professional & were able to fix a major issue with my AC same day. The apartment itself exceeded my expectations. Appliances are high quality and overall, there was almost nothing I needed to note on my move-in report. One thing to take into account is that they do prioritize tenant parking. I prefer this as my previous apartment was a nightmare to park at. So if you have guests, they do have to walk down from the office. However, my mom is disabled & they provide her a temporary parking pass when she visits so they do make accommodations - you just have to ask! All the tenants here seem really nice (albeit, I've only lived here a month) but it's the type of place if you're package is outside, someone will bring it in and leave it at your door. I'll update this review if anything changes but as for now, I would highly recommend this complex if you're thinking of moving out to Harrison.

We have had great luck with maintenance and the office staff is very friendly! Maintenance is always prompt when we submit a request. I have made several friends in the complex.

We are a retired couple, the building we are in, the apartment is very quiet. We never hear any sounds from our neighbors, TV or radios or talking. We are on the second floor, our utilities bills are very affordable. The pool area is very well maintained, the common areas, are also well maintained. Any maintenance issue are resolved sometimes that day, or within 24 hours. Our freezer quit working on a Friday night, I called the emergency number at 8 pm, the maintenance tech was here within 30 minutes got the freezer working that night. The office staff Lesley and Katie, and the maintenance staff are friendly, polite and understanding. Every six months they schedule furnace filter change, and a quick inspection of our apartment. We have lived here for two years, we just signed our lease for year three. We have good neighbors in our building. The complex is in great location. We would recommend Shaker Point Apartments to our friends and family.?

Not a kid friendly place the driveways are terrible garbage always overflowing cause the only have one big dumpster for all those apartments there was a shooting like 2 months after moving in there. And the rent is ridiculously high for those tiny apartments.

The older tenants are allowed to harass new tenants with no repercussions. I didn't even live here a month before I was almost attacked by a guy who i later found out was my neighbor. I called the police and rent office. The police confirmed he was the aggressor and in the wrong. The rent office claimed he was just having a bad day. Since then I've never felt comfortable or safe living here. I have kept to myself and stayed out of everyones way. This didn't stop me from getting rudely confronted by my downstairs neighbor months later about parking rules that were never explained. I called the rent office and nothing was done. The pool is always dirty. There are creepy old men who leer at you and kids while playing. Maintenance is allowed to be rude and berate you when they come to fix things. One of them told us we could fix the issue ourselves instead of calling them.

I have lived here for almost 3 years. I'm a good tenant. I always pay rent on time and I don't bother anyone. I have never had any issues at any apartment I've ever lived at with staff or neighbors. However, the whole time I've lived here, I have never truly felt "at home." It seems more like I'm an unwelcomed guest. Within the first few months of living here, we had to call the police on a neighbor who was harassing us, the office wouldn't take any action. A neighbor said they heard banging in our apartment, we got an angry phone call from the office the same day. Nobody was home at the time of the alleged "banging." (Turns out it was something going on inside of the walls.) The older tenants are not welcoming of new tenants. They will watch you like a hawk, praying you park in the wrong spot or make a sound after 10PM so they can complain about you, sometimes it won't even be something you did, but you'll get blamed for it anyway. I called to report a mulch fire in front of my building. I ended up being accused of starting it. Their cleaning crew is comprised of drug addicts. Parking here is abysmal to say the least. The parking spots are uneven in some areas, which has resulted in the office placing large stickers on my window for "double parking." Other cars have been in the same spot with no similar ramifactions. If you get home after 5PM, good luck finding a spot. They have a vague, arbitrary parking system that no one follows and is only enforced when they feel like it. The office staff will come into your apartment for "inspections" seemingly at random, multiple times a year. You'll be berated at these inspections for things the maintenance crew or cleaning crew have supposedly seen or heard, without any documentation or proof. A sink with a few dirty dishes in it from cooking breakfast and a couple of cases of water I had purchased in bulk during one such inspection resulted in a warning that my apartment was in violation of the lease for poor housekeeping which resulted in another inspection the week after. The same day I told them I'd like to go month to month when my lease was up. The next business day I got a notice from the office that my rent will increase $165 once my lease was up. This brought my rent to $1060 a month, which is more than the vacant apartments they were advertising for rent at the time (one apartment was advertised for $1000, the other for $940 for the same exact floorplan I have.) My rent was $800 when I moved in. This was what I'm sure was some sort of retaliation. I told them I'd be out by the 15th of the month, they refused to prorate the rent, they wanted the whole month's worth even though I wouldn't be staying another full month. These apartments are way to small to be charging people over $1000 for them. They are all only 800 sq feet. The "amenities" the try to tout are all not worth it. The pool is small and always crowded, the gym & theater both off limits after 9, the fitness center is very small. There's only one dumpster in the whole complex near the entrance. So taking out trash depending on where you are can be an excursion. It also frequently becomes overfilled and people will lay trash around it. There will then be a giant pile of trash to greet you as you enter the complex. If the market wasn't the way it was and I had other options to keep my son in this school district, I would've left after the first year. I know the rent market is tight, but if you're reading this, just know you can do better than here. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

No parking at all. You have to buy one of their small garages in order to have any parking here. Half the people parked do not even have passes.

Personally I wouldn’t recommend. Although great in the beginning terrible in the end .We were told they would do an inspection to allow us to re lease then we’re told a few days later they won’t even consider it and gave us a 60 days notice to move which isn’t enough time now a days we also have a one year old and a baby on the way so it was a very upsetting situation. Also received zero explanation.Anyways hopefully others have a better experience!

We have absolutely loved living here the last 4 years. The office staff are so kind and go the extra mile to make you feel at home. The maintenance staff is a great group. They are so quick when it comes to maintenance requests. They also interact with our son so sweetly which in my book is a great thing. We will definitely miss living here.

I have lived here 6 years. It has been mostly ok but I've had a couple of issues with trying to get them to repair the common things like washers and dryers which no one seems to think they're responsible for fixing. I would be nice if they built a small playground for some of the kids around here, there is so much empty space for one, and when the pool is closed smaller kids don't have anything to do.I probably wouldn't be so nitpicky but my rent has gone up a lot over the years with no improvement to the property at all.
