“My family stayed the weekend of February 2-4, 2024. We were all from out of town and in Newark for our mother's funeral. This hotel was the only a few miles from the funeral home and walking distance to Downtown. I booked a suite so our family, who had not all been together for 20 years had a place to visit and just reconnect. It was so large that at one time there were 30 people in there comfortably. I have to say, they know customer service. I had only booked through Friday night and needed to extend another night but unfortunately they were over booked and I was told Friday night that they could give me a regular room at a reduced price. Saturday morning as I was trying to get ready for my mom's funeral and pack up all the food and things in the room to transfer to the smaller space, Cindy called me and said she was able to make it happen for me to stay in that room. She said I know it would be too hard to move everything so I was able to move some things around down here. What a blessing she is. She hugged me and made me feel like family. That's what you need when traveling in times like this.Thank you to the staff at DoubleTree and I just want to Cudo's to the leadership for empowering your staff to do the right thing. I will definitely make this my place to stay every time I come back to Newark. 5+ Star in my book.Rooms: The rooms were clean and the suite that I stayed in was very large. Perfect for a family gathering.”

“I booked this hotel because the pictures that I seen looked beautiful, and it was! I had an awesome stay! Everyone that I encountered was friendly and amazing. The whole staff from the front desk, to the maintenance people, the house keepers, the bartender and the people working the restaurant were 10/10. The rooms were nice the bed was amazing. The only bad thing that I can say is the shower will get water throughout the whole bathroom so just throw a towel down by the edge of the shower and it'll keep the water from going everywhere.”

“Bed was comfortable and room was in good shape. Walls were very thin so u could here loud noises from other rooms or hallway, but it is expected of an older building like this. Wifi would drop very frequently depending on where you were in the building. Shower water pressure was very high so kind of like a mini massage, but some may think its too much. Staff were excellent.”
