Wish I could write this review under happier circumstances. Went here to euthanize our older dog. The staff and the vet were wonderful. They were sympathetic and understanding. They also sent us a sympathy card a few days later, which doesn't seem like much, but it makes you feel like you and your beloved pet are more than just money. We will be going here for our veterinary needs.

Dr. Laing was amazing with a last minute emergency farm call. Would recommend to anyone their services. After 10 other vet clinics turned me down, Refugee Canyon didn’t hesitate even with me not being a current client. Again thank you so much for everything!

We rescued an infant kitten about a week old. She was 4 weeks when I took her to the vet. She couldn't poop. Her belly was hurting her. Not 1 vet tryed to relieve her. They gave me a vial for me to collect stool and bring back. (25 min drive,) She can not go, for me to collect it, that's why I'm here. So $70.00 for a visit.
I feel it was a waste of my money and our time going there. She's doing great now.

Think twice if you love your pet they have the mentality there's no money in a cure! After more than a year we were fed up we should have listened to the previous customers who warned us. Immediately after finding a another veterinarian my dog is responding a lot better and the staff at the new place is actually friendly not like this establishment

Dr. Coe and her team did an amazing job with my cats spay. Her healing journey has been so smooth. In fact, all of the staff have been amazing with all of my visits! That's important when it comes to fur family. I can't thank you enough.

I am so beyond grateful for Refugee Canyon and their team. My 21 year old kitty unfortunately was in severe need of veterinary care after having a neurological episode. We are extremely thankful for them to have provided end of life services for my Mimi

Still traumatized 3 years later, to the point I’m not sure if I will ever fully heal from my experience. Miss communication on their behalf caused me to have to unexpectedly put my dog down, who needed his medication to survive. Even though it was their fault, I stilled payed plenty and extra for the fee to be able to get a refill on a Sunday. Just a couple days after they did surgery on him…. After me sobbing and pleading on the phone. Surgery at his stage with heart failure should have never been an option… I know I would have had more time but I feel like money was way more important to them, and they got plenty from me.

Overall a horrible experience and exercise in frustration. Our blue heeler was diagnosed with a seizure disorder last year and was started on the more expensive medication that did not require the regular bloodwork. In August when we called them to send a new refill order to our pharmacy, we were then told that the medication in fact did require quarterly blood testing. Their solution was to leave her off this medication until she could be seen for bloodwork, we scheduled said appointment as the medication was helping our dog. A few hours later received a call from a different person stating whoever said that was wrong, it did not require regular testing and that she would send the refill. Six months go by and we are due for a new refill. We called them on Thursday afternoon and did not receive any response for 24+ hours. They stated that this medication DOES require regular bloodwork and they would not refill until she was seen. After doing some research into her medication, the largest risk is abruptly stopping the drug as it will cause withdrawal seizures. We had to call 4 separate times within a few hours and were never able to speak to a vet to voice our concerns about the lack of communication and risk our dog was under. During the final call the receptionist stated that they were supposed to send a notice about the bloodwork but there was a “glitch” in their system. After once again explaining that our dog would be put at risk of more seizures and/or death if she had to wait for a refill until after the available appointment time we were laughed at and placed on hold. The receptionist finally talked to the vet and they sent an emergency refill.
Upon arrival to her bloodwork appointment, the tech had no idea why we were coming in, what medication she was on, or the dosage. When we informed her we were only there for the bloodwork for her prescription we received a snarky response and loud call out to cancel her normal work up. During their exam, the vet was nice enough but the tech was yanking on our dog by her harness trying to force her around the exam room instead of telling us what they needed to see on our dog. The overall demeanor of our visit was very passive aggressive and lacking general care.
When asking further questions about the details of the bloodwork to ensure this is what they needed to continue our dog’s prescription, they proceeded to state that we would not even let them do a normal checkup. The tech apologized for a “miscommunication” over her appointment, though I would argue there is no communication or organization whatsoever. We requested copies of all of her records so that we can take them to a new vet and were told the receptionist could print that for us, when we asked her she said she had no clue how but would leave a note for someone to look into it Monday, no clue if we will ever receive these.
As pet owners, we do not feel comfortable returning to this establishment. We should not have to fight this hard with incompetent staff to make sure our pets are taken care of.

Today was one of the hardest days we’ve ever had as a family. Our precious Golden required life saving surgery and finding care and weighing our options was hard. I can’t speak highly enough about the grace and gentleness from the staff. It was our first experience at a vet that didn’t leave us feeling like they wanted every penny possible. There was no way to make today easier but they did stoop down to our level and not rush us or guilt us for trying to find the best solution for our boy which is all we could ask for. In the midst of the pain and shock we are so thankful for their support.

I would give zero stars if possible. (First a little background information on my dog. He is highly stressed out coming to the vet we give him medication the night before and day of his appointment.) They offered us a 6pm appointment soonest they could get him in, we asked if it was going to be an issue coming in that late and was told no. I take our dog there, he’s fine at first, very out of it due to medication. They weighed him then go back to the room, he’s still doing okay. As soon as the second vet walked in he was anxious. (They skipped the actual exam, checking his ears, temp, stuff like that.) They start investigating the reason we’re here, a bump that’s on my dogs side. They needed to collect samples of the bump he has to have it tested which in order to do that they need to take a needle and move it all around inside his skin. It wasn’t happening. They said he needs to be sedated, which they couldn’t at that time because it was the end of the day and were short staffed. (Again, asked if this would be an issue) I’m thinking since they weren’t able to give him an exam and they were the ones who didn’t have the staff to do what was needed. I wouldn’t be charged for that visit. Wrong. They charged me for a full exam and said it was due to me taking up the their time. This happened on a Tuesday. Reached out Wednesday asking for them to take the money paid and apply to the next appointment since this isn’t right. It’s not a good way to do business. The woman at the front desk compared it to taking your car to a mechanic, even if they don’t find the issue, you still have to pay. But said she would have a manager call us. Which is asinine. A mechanic would at least examine the car first. They did absolutely nothing but weigh him. That’s not an exam by any means. We wait for the call.. never happens. We reach out again Thursday (because we have the rescheduled appointment for Friday and needed to know if our dog needed drugged or not. We’re canceling the appointment if they didn’t correct the issue) they said a manager would be in touch, we never got the call. We gave our dog his medication just in case, call again Friday, day of his new appointment trying to see what’s going on and they said again, a manager will call us but insisted on us to come in with our dog for the appointment and just figure things out then. Absolutely not. So we keep waiting for this manager to call us and now, at this point there’s 30min until his appointment so my boyfriend drives up there to see what’s going on with this garbage fire they call an office, finally speaks to the manager, he never apologized for our experience or for the lack of communication. He did absolutely nothing to correct the situation. Which shows they were trying to get us out there with our dog, knowing they weren’t going to credit our last visit, just to get more money out of us. So now we have our dog drugged up for no reason and have to find a new vet last minute. This is this the only vet we’ve used for years and they have now lost a loyal customer over this. They knew my dogs temperament and should have known that if he needed drugged just to have his ears cleaned, then he probably should have been sedated for a procedure that requires him to be ABSOLUTELY still while they wiggle a needle in his skin. In my opinion, I set my appointment, told them what was wrong with my dog they have a whole file on him, they should have been prepared or if not, shouldn’t have charged us for the visit. If I knew they were going to shove a needle in him and wiggle it around I would’ve told them he needed more than the usual medications but at the same time that’s their job to know/think about things like this. If you’re considering taking your animal here I suggest you reconsider.
