“I have worked in the Medical Insurance World for nearly 40 years and I never had a claim or a mention of SelmanCo come across my desk. I really don’t understand how this happened! I just saw its availability upon reading through my husband’s PEBA handbook one day and I checked on it. It’s a Tricare Supplement you can get and keep because my husband was Military Retired but working for our state and insured under our state employment insurance carrier BCBS. My husband retired 6 years ago and started with Medicare and Tricare for life. I’m 8 years younger than him so I dropped my companies group health plan which made Tricare my primary and I picked up SelmanCo as my supplement. I pay $60 a month for SelmanCo along with my $12.50 per month for Tricare. I am 61. SelmanCo pays 100% of what Tricare does not pay including my co-insurance and my Tricare deductible. This means I pay $72.50 per month to be 100% covered for all care I receive with a Tricare participating provider! This has allowed me to retire early in life. I feel so blessed to have Tricare but super blessed to continue to carry SelmanCo for such a cheap premium per month! I don’t understand why PEBA /State Employees are not told about SelmanCo for their employees that have Tricare as their primary insurance payer! It has made a big financial impact in my life. $0.00 out of pocket for physician visits, Emergency care and surgeries! It just doesn’t get any better than that!”
