I highly recommend everyone avoid using the Block Advisors Hilliard office for doing individual tax returns. The biggest issues are they will not answer the phone and they do not offer “upfront pricing” as their website claims. I attempted to get a price multiple times to file an individual tax return. I was told they would email it to me prior to my appointment. I was never provided any pricing. I wanted to get my taxes done quickly and against my better judgment I showed up to my appointment without knowing the price of the work. This office charges between $275-$450 to file and individual tax return. This pricing is for a simple return such as a filing single with one W2 and not itemizing. I don’t have an issue with them charging outrageously high rates if people are willing to pay them, but It’s my opinion this office purposely doesn’t provide upfront pricing to lure customers in and then bill them for work already completed.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. I am convinced that they are a front for something.... I filed quarterly taxes about 3 months ago. They were supposed to fix an issue on my 2020 taxes as well. After I turned in all of the appropriate tax information, I went home and took a closer look at my Schedule C and Schedule E because the numbers didn't seem right. They had incorrectly filled out LITERALLY every single line item on both my Schedule C and Schedule E. So, I went back within half an hour and fixed it. However, I went home again and noticed that they had missed literally 6 different forms that were also supposed to be filled in. Including an INT-1099 and the stimulus money. How can these fail to get included? So, I decided to go to another tax accountant, but needed my 2020 forms. It has now been 2 months with multiple complaints to their corporate office that they aren't open. Their own corporate office cannot get a hold of anyone to give me back my 2020 tax forms. It is HIGHLY sketchy, and I am personally convinced that this location is a front or something. DO NOT GO. Your taxes will be filed incorrectly, and you will not get anything back. I have filed a report to the BBB and their own corporate office has escalated this case without much success.

Jean Botomogno is very unprofessional. He refused to tell me how much his services would cost then when he finished my taxes and told me how much he was charging got upset when I told him it was too much. "I should have brought up the pricing issue up front" because he "used up valuable time that could have gone to another tax payer"
