DESCO Federal Credit Union was originally established in 1963 to serve the employees of Detroit Steel Corporation in Portsmouth, Ohio. With the closing of Detroit Steel, the credit union's name was changed, and its charter was updated to provide service to all eligible persons in our chartered communities. Residents of Adams, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, and Scioto Counties in Ohio; Boyd, Greenup, Carter, Fleming, Lewis, Mason, and Rowan Counties in Kentucky; and Cabell, Wayne, Mason, and Putnam Counties in West Virginia are automatically eligible to become a member of the credit union. You may also qualify through family relationships, employment, attending church, school, or by volunteering in any of the chartered counties.
