I was at dollar general yesterday which would have been 9-11-2025 and this was the cleanest dollar general I have ever seen. The cashier was a young man he was so respectful and helpful. He even brought me one of those little basket so I wouldn’t have to carry my things I was going to buy around in my arms. The shelves were full and nicely organized like I was so amazed and impressed. So just wanted to give this store recognition they so much need it. So if you live in Kent Ohio and go to this dollar general store let’s make some noise and let this store hear some good things about them. And how we appreciate a nice clean respectful store. Great staff. They were happy to engage in conversation and point out that I had spilled some of my food on my shirt. It was a good experience and I left with a smile on my face.

A Dollar General in a strip mall? Dollar General is a deep discount chain; so don't expect an upscale experience.
That said the small size of a Dollar General makes it very convenient to run in and grab sometime you need like a box of pencils or a gallon of milk without making it an hour long trip.

My recent trip was met with a very rude manager, the items I had taken to the register was 50% off (many signs posted) and this manager was very rude and disrespectful due to the fact he had to actually walk 2 steps over and do his job and take off the price. Im so sorry turning a key caused you such grief sir but honestly get it together. I will not be returning if I see this man working.

I like this place because they usually have what I need when I go looking for what I need and when they do have what I need, it's usually Farr to say it's a fare price.. Big props to the The General Yo!

Kenton Dollar General: where you will be denied service for having a bag if you're a male, but not denied service for refusing to wear a mask during a global pandemic. Quality store.

This store is always clean and staff friendly. Problems with stocking levels, but that seems to be most DGs lately.

Nothing special. Great place to get items cheap. All DG's are the same. A mess and severely short handed. Different crews constantly. The pay is horrible and the managers take all the good hours mainly days. Usually only one person is working which means no breaks including bathroom.
