My first experience here was almost a year ago. My friend and I came in, were promptly seated and attended to by a very flamboyant gentleman. He was awesome. The food was amazing. They have a lot of good options. I was excited to take my boyfriend here yesterday for the first time and again was promptly seated by a host. The waiter came over to bring us water and ask what we wanted to drink. We asked for a hot chocolate told him we needed a few more minutes to decide on food, when he came again with the hot chocolate. These few minutes turned into ten or fifteen when said waiter had mixed up people’s receipts and was dealing with the after math of that. In the meantime, the other patrons of the restaurant had left, as they were done. The kitchen crew was then sitting on top of the prep counters, on their phones. Your booty where you prep my food: not okay. And then I witnessed the one girl sneeze INTO HER HANDS, wipe her face and hair and then continue on her phone. I was appalled. We order a hot chocolate which I tried to pay for but the guy who sat us must have put the picture together and told us it was okay. I didn’t cause a scene or say anything to the staff other than “I’d like to pay for this hot chocolate and then we are going to leave” ..I appreciate the guy who let us go without charge, he was not our waiter. Maybe our waiter was having a bad day. Either way, another waitress noticed us waiting and totally ignored us. I understand people have sections but when the restaurant is empty and we have been sitting waiting for fifteen while you talk to your coworkers…. The girl sitting on the prep counter in the photo is the one who sneezed into her hands. Like right into her palms. You shouldn’t do this even if you don’t have a job what the…. Gross.

The food was excellent but they allow non service dogs in the restaurant. We were seated next to a family with their dog that was allowed to be up on the chair and eat off the restaurant’s dishes… was super grossed out. I thought only service animals were allowed inside food establishments?

The server was very accommodating. I told her I was waiting for my friend to arrive .As soon as my friend arrived she quickly brought water. I told her I didn't want fries and she substituted a salad. A very good experience.

A friend and I just tried to go here with our two babies because we figured this would be a quiet lunch spot. The host and management refused to let us sit at a larger table so that I could nurse my baby and so we would have room with the strollers and told us that we could only sit at a high top. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable for a business to deny business when there was a perfectly acceptable open table that they could have seated us at. I will never be returning here, and feel extremely disrespected. Poor management and even worse respect.

I think we've found Perfect bacon... So, my wife saw this diner on the way to our Valentine's dinner and we decided to go there for breakfast this morning. First off, the atmosphere is clean and modern, a very comfortable place to be. Our server, Angel was very upbeat and attentive. Our food was served quickly and arrived fresh and hot. I had the Ham 'Diner' Scramble and I will say the portions and ingredients are as good as they come. There were plenty of fresh vegetables, ham, and cheese cooked just right. The other half of the plate included the home fries which were a good mix of slightly soft potatoes with crunchy counterparts (I recommend a little salt and pepper across the board). We also ordered a side of bacon... FULL STOP there are things that I don't like about bacon, sometimes. Too chewy, too crunchy, too thin, too salty ... but I will say that when I ate this bacon there was NOTHING I did not like about about it. In fact, it is the best bacon I have had, to date, there I said it. If you just want a good breakfast and know you'll be happy, this is the place. We'll be back to enjoy the outdoor seating.

This place is a Lakewood institution for a reason. I always enjoy everything I get here for breakfast or brunch. Great food, love the vibe, always good service. And to take out a couple pieces of pie to enjoy later, awesome!

Wouldn’t recommend having an open kitchen if the cooks are going to eat on the line with their bare hands.

My 1st time there. I'd go back!I liked the setup & interior "Diner" colors/vibe (though we opted for the patio - of which some enthusiastic moto-bikers & some other street noises were annoying (the patio faces Clifton Blvd). The menu is nicely varied. I got the Patty Melt which was good, but even though ordered medium rare (almost was) it was a little dry.Prices were good & our server shared his sense of humor (admittedly we encouraged that). The soggy fries (although plentiful) were why I didn't rate them a 5.6/2023 update;Still a 4 ⭐ rating as although the filling was delicious, the puff pastry atop the Chicken Pot Pie was very difficult to cut through - squishing some filling over the edge.Vladimir was efficient and a delight.1/2024:I had their Fish & Chips. The coleslaw was different/OK.Repeating my original comment - "The soggy fries (although plentiful) were why I didn't rate them a 5."Well, while both the Cod & fries were plentiful, the Cod was dry & had minimal flavor (you already know my thoughts on the fries).Jaylon was bubbly & friendly!Parking: The parking lot seems too limited as it's shared with a bank (especially if the bank's open).
