Long time Melt fan, been visiting multiple locations since the concept began. I was super excited to see them featured on the food channels & shows over the years.Unfortunately restaurants are judged on what you put on the plate today. We arrived on the Monday of the eclipse & we could tell from the second we walked in, something happened. I don’t wanna be insensitive, because for all I know an employee died the night before and the folks on shift today pulled it together to get through this shift. Because that is what it felt like.We were greeted, if that’s what you call that interaction. Sat in the bar where we were left to witness the chaos of the day.Bartender, who turned out to be our server was miserable & sweaty dropped off a bottled pop, the food & the bill. That’s it.When it was time for the bill , she noticed the pile of over cooked nasty fries that had been clumped together in the kitchen, yet was served any way in the middle of table. She asked if everything was ok, I told her as nicely as I could, this wasn’t good if I waited 20 mins for it, after waiting an hour, it was almost a slap in the face to be served a wrap with extra cheese not even warm, much less melted in a place, named………. MELT.So. Crappy Service. Crappy Wraps. Crappy Fries. Warm bottled pop. 3 tables came after us, ordered before us, and left before us. It was hard not to feel like Melt was trying to put a damper on our day. We came in so excited & left so, so disappointed.

After hearing so much about this place, we had to try it and I probably will not go back for a long time unless I want to give them a shot for redemption. They were out of most of the Pepsi products, they had no artichoke dip, and they had no wings and they must’ve been out of chicken also because there were only four pieces of chicken on my mac & cheese, and it was very very very very overcooked to the point that it was hard.

Melt’s sandwich quality seems to vary. So, I ordered a Mac & Cheese entree for delivery. The Mac & Cheese was bland and the red peppers plus spinach were undercooked and mostly raw. A couple hours later I started to get very ill (vomiting, GI issues). Was up throughout the night getting sick. I’m not sure I can eat here again.

Clearly got canned tomatoes sauce and then made into soup. It tastes like canned sauce. Sandwiches are good.

Server was very weird. She stood atleast 3 ft away from the table with a mask on and we could hardly hear her. Food was great but really surprised at the lack of a crowd on a Saturday at 7pm. Hope its not coming to a end.

My Mac n cheese was cheeseless and they gave us enough marinara sauce for one piece of mozzarella. Waste of $50

I have loved melt for years. Got take out on Saturday the 30th. The purple pastrami was probably the worst meal I have ever had. I took one bite and thought I was being punked. Pastrami was cut so thick it was literally impossible to chew. Tender? Lol not even close. It was so chewy it was a complete loss.

Just leaving the Melt. Waited 45 minutes and was told it was a 15 minute wait. The whole right side of the restaurant was one party. They left and after 20 minutes not one table was cleaned off. I get being short staffed but that was insane! A waste of my time !

Let me start with this - I don’t like giving 1 star reviews. It takes a lot to earn a 1 star review from me and sadly, Melt got it. Also for reference - this was not my first visit to this Melt and I am really disappointed in how far downhill it’s gone.We went for dinner on a Thursday night. No wait and we sat down at a mostly empty bar. Tried ordering a draft on tap - they were out. Tried a different draft - out again. Finally had to look at the fridge to pick something in a can.We ordered food, nothing fancy - one of the grilled cheese plates and an order of regular Mac and cheese. We waited an hour for the food to come out. I took one bite of the mac and cheese - cold, bland, no panko breadcrumbs, barely any cheese. It was like it had been in the fridge overnight and someone zapped it for 10 seconds in the microwave. I immediately got a box. Later at home, I ended up making my own cheese sauce to try to salvage what I could of my meal. The other dish we ordered was the chorizo and potato sandwich. Again, everything was blah. The fries were floppy and cold. The sandwich was somewhat edible. Our bill ended up being $45 - 2 beers, sandwich and mac and cheese plus tip. I felt bad for the bartender who seemed embarrassed for the whole experience. And I don’t blame him. Melt isn’t what it used to be and that is a sad reality for what has been a Lakewood staple.

They can’t possible value their customers. This place is a joke, and I got sick.

Bartender wasn't very interested in serving us, maybe because it was a takeout order. Sandwich was good but they forgot to include side order.

Definitely a must try! The vanilla bean coffee... is THE BOMB! I ordered the variety... huge sandwiches. Excellent leftovers of you own an air fryer!
