Great place! Very knowledgeable! If an employee is new or not sure of something, they will NOT act like they know what they don't and miss inform you. They will go ask to get you the right information! Mike Easter is a great guy and Preston is an incredible person also! Very straight shooters also EXTREMELY knowledgeable and helpful. NOT TO MENTION GREAT DEALS AND PRICES!! They TAKE CARE of their loyal customers! I promise! I would LOVE TO work here with these gentlemen! 5 stars!!

I owe these guys a good review. They sent me an energetic, good eating asian water monitor. I had 2 bad experiences with other reptile places so i was definitely worried. The people I spoke to on the phone were great. Very patient and helpful. Also very confident and kindly reassured me that this animal was going to be healthy and eating when I got it. A week in and he's a typical baby water monitor. Thank you people at SATOO, looking forward to more reptiles from you guys.

Bought a wild caught mangrove snake in mid to end November. She was said to have been imported in July eating rats. It is now January and still won't eat. I reached out they gave a few ideas. Now are ghosting me. I hate to leave a 1 star. I just spent alot of money building a tank set up and snake. This is a snake I've wanted since I watch a movie back in 1990. I've tried rats, mice, fish, chicks live and pre killed. They are just snake flippers. BEWARE OF THEM. I WOULDNT BUY A SNAKE FROM THEM.

I really hate to do this but i gotta rate one star. I used to love coming here when they first opened, but I learned some of their animals are wild caught. Judging by the reviews it appears quite a few are, or are poorly bred/cared for. Also one time when they had gotten new snakes in one literally slithered mostly out of the holding tub, had to tell staff. There could've been several loose snakes if I hadn't informed them. I unfortunately cannot reccomend this place.

They have a wild selection of things I didn't even know you could buy like black widow spiders and albino scorpions. This is a really rad place 10/10.

This is one of the only places I can buy live mice and rats for my snake. This place was in Lakewood on Detroit and needed to expand. I love everything about Satoo they are clean, they take care of their reptiles and they are kind and knowledgeable. Thanks guys!!

This place is one of the best reptile stores I've ever been to. The staff were super friendly and answered any questions I had. Most importantly, all of the animals had nice enclosures and looked very happy and healthy. As someone who owns quite a bit of reptiles, I can definitely recommend this place.

After I accidentally crashed my flightless fruitfly culture from Petco, I picked up a fresh batch here. It's been over 8 weeks and that same culture is still spitting 100+ new flies a day for my hungry little frogs. I haven't done much to keep the flies, best culture I've ever had. The employees are knowledgeable and eager to share without being too "teachy" or over explaining. I'm experienced with herps but also new to keeping a specific toad species and wanted real guidance and advice and they nailed it. Bioactive enclosures/vivariums throughout the store, this seems to be their specialty. All the animals seem super well set-up, happy, and healthy. The staff do not appear over stressed nor bored like most pet store employees, which leads me to believe their animals are not being kept at an unreasonable stock/volume. We even saw plenty of uninhabited enclosures in the slow "set-up" phase which says to me that they take their time to do right for the enclosures' future residents. So many unique little ones for sale, their Jerusalem crickets/camel spiders are next on my list. I did buy a dead culture of springtails 2 months ago but I knew it was a fresh culture when I bought it, they were honest and the price was very fair, and I blame the lackluster on the super high temperatures during shipping, not the sellers. Neat little place, an ethical replacement to Parma Pets. Miss them but their invert enclosures always had fleas and mold and their snakes were sickly so good riddance. Total gem of a place. Will be back often.

lovely local pet store that clearly takes very good care of their animals! I'm pretty sure all their tanks were bioactive, and they had tons of animals that I'd never even seen before in real life! so cool!!

Best reptile place in the area. The staff is helpful and they have a pretty good selection. I’m there a couple times a month for the past year or so and never had a bad experience.

I should have read the reviews. I have 20 years experience with reptiles mostly with large snakes and Monitor lizards. I bought a Roughneck Monitor online from them. When the animal arrived he was super skinny but at least active. I did not want to send him back thinking we could nurse him back and get him to a healthy weight. He died less than 3 weeks owning him. Had the vet euthanized him today. I have 5 thriving Monitor lizards, do not do business with these folks and save yourself some heartache.

Like all the other reviews say, do not buy reptiles from here!! They sell sick animals. I recently bought a tortoise that wasn’t acting right since the day after I got him. After calling and complaining for weeks they ran me around saying everything was fine with him when it clearly wasn’t. After being ignored for weeks, the tortoise hit a point where I had to call a veterinarian because he was dying. Veterinarian told me he has a respiratory infection due to the enclosure he was in at the store and how they told me to set it up at home. Everything they were telling me to do to take care of him was killing him. This infection was going to be $300 to treat. So, after calling back the store and explaining all this they said, “sorry we have a 7-day return policy”. What’s frustrating is I contacted them within the first 7days numerous times. I then called the store manager, Mike, who after I explained this situation to, promised a full refund. I went in the next day to return the tortoise and the employee, Sydney, tells me that the manager was taking back his word and I am no longer getting a refund because she told him that the reason the tortoise is dying is because I didn’t take her advice and set the tank up correctly? I set the tank up exactly how she told me too and bought all the supplies with her supervision. After lying to her manager and not giving me a refund, I tried to call back the next day, but Sydney told me Mike refused to speak to me again. What kind of store manager promises a refund, goes back on his word then refuses to speak to you? So long story short I had to dispute the charge on my credit card. Overall, terribly run company. Don’t waste your time and money buying a reptile from here.

Not worth the headache. I myself have been a victim of and know many others where the employees gang up on you to their manager Mike when you bring a concern of their product/pets to their attention and change your story to him. Manager also refuses to speak to concerned customers on the phone. If your looking for a reptile consider going literally anywhere else.
