I recently took my car in to have the valve cover replaced. I dropped the car off and was informed later that it needed a new coil pack as well and it was also replaced.
When I arrived to pick up the car I could not even make it out of the parking lot because it was misfiring so badly. They took it back in and informed me in about 45 minutes that it was fine now. I asked what happened and supposedly they just took it off and put it back on and it started working which I find hard to believe.
It sounds like it was not installed properly the first time. And come to find out neither was my valve cover.
I drove home and later discovered a puddle of oil on the floor underneath the vehicle and all over the engine compartment, which was recently detailed, so I know it was clean before it was dropped off.
They towed the vehicle back out and assured they would “make it right” which they said I lost 1.5 quarts and checked everything over and it was okay and replaced the gasket that was incorrectly installed and said they would have the detail team clean it up for me.
Well, I picked up the car and they did a piss poor job at “detailing” it. There is still oil in the engine bay and down the side of the car. The worst part is I had to fight with the service manager to get the initial labor refunded. Why should I pay for the labor that installed the parts incorrectly?
At this point, I’m just hoping there is no permanent damage to the engine that isn’t throwing a code yet. And I’m still out the money for the parts.

See the dealer reply below before reading this part. The general manager did reach out but saying everything was taken care of is a stretch.

Had my rear bumper replaced. They did a good job with that. Was just disappointed by the dusty footprints all over my floor mats. My car was clean going in but very dusty coming out.
