The employees were friendly but the store was in need of some organizing big time. Couldn't access what I was looking for due to stock room carts and merchandise being in the way of the shelving. Cleanliness wasn't really a thing either.

Refused cash payment for services due to defective handtool. Two other registers in store but employee felt it was best to stay at broken register. Refused service, forced to walk 2.9 miles roundtrip in 29F to use service at Speedway. Since they don't want to use working equipment so customers can pay, this tells me they don't want paying customers. So, guess its all free from this store. At least thats what I will claim.

I go and buy a prepay card using MY money so I could send it to my daughter and I get home and tried to use it after I activated it. So the activation was good and it has the balance I had paid Timothy . We'll go figure it was not letting me use the card for anything. I tried several times but no luck. Do I went back to this store and spoke to the manager Timothy and he says u gotta read fine print we can't return it. Ok so I'm told by the card people to take it back to Timothy and he says gotta read the fine print. Well I take it to another Dollar general and turns out Timothy didn't activate the thing. And he could of activated it when I came in today. Both yesterday and today he didn't even try to activate. Hmm

We are daily customers only because the convenience and proximity of the store. After having to dodge the multitude of pot holes in the parking lot you then must traverse thru the obstacle course of the carts of items needing to be stocked. If you are lucky enough to find what you need on the bare shelves you will encounter rudeness and attitude for disturbing the cashier's. Not to mention the store was remodeled but you would never know with the buildup of dirt.I would recommend driving a few miles away to the dg by save a lot or rockbridge.

I went here this evening 1/23/2022 probably around 7-8 pm and the younger blonde working up front was horrible. As I stood in line waiting for her to ring me up she was steady on her phone typing away. So I used the self checkout. She crouched down behind the self checkout still typing away. There was an older lady behind me waiting and when I was finishing up she decided to help her. As she was ringing that lady up she continued to type away. I get staffing is rough these days but come on. Normally the ladies working are amazing have always helped me or whoever was in there.

Constantly rude employees - dark haired older lady popped off how "bans are permanent" when I first walked in, though I've never been banned here. Two other employees sneered about how my job taxes work when I didn't ask (I doordash, as well as delivering for Uber Eats & GrubHub). The other Dollar General has much better employees who aren't so bitter and stay in their lane.

Use to go to this one all the time. But, after seeing how gross the women's bathroom was and I don't want to even guess when it was cleaned last..... I haven't been back. The one up in Rockbridge is so much better and much cleaner and you can find stuff there unlike the one in town, usually they are always stocking and you can't get through the aisles because of there boxes and carts.
