If I could give a negative rating I would because Tuffy's on Broadway in Lorain OH scammed me out of roughly $1,600.00, and that's without even fixing the problem!
I took my car in because the front left brake appeared to be occasionally sticking in the brake position, causing the car to run rough and to pour out a burning smelly smoke from the left front tire. They (Tyler) called me a couple of hours later saying that I needed new front rotors, calipers and pads. And that my rear rotors and pads also needed to be replaced. Basically a completely new brake system not to mention a brake system flush. He quoted me $1,545.81...not an easy amount of money to pay out when you're basically living from paycheck to paycheck. But because I needed to have a car to get back and forth to work, I reluctantly approved the repairs.
The next day my car was still smoking out of the left front tire so I called Tuffy's back and explained that they must have goofed somewhere and they needed to fix it. So I again dropped the car off, and again received a call from Tyler. This time he said that the car also needs a new brake line ($600). What!?
They're clearly either grossly incompetent by misdiagnosing the real problem or they're just trying to rob me out of another $600 in addition to the $1,600.00 that I paid for nothing because the problem is still there! It's obvious that the car didn't even need all that other stuff.
I will be pursuing them in small claims court to get my money back!

I incurred damage to a tire yesterday, causing a flat tire and some damage to the rim on my Subaru Imprezza. AAA put on my temporary spare to get me home. I called Tuffy Tire and Auto Service when I came home. The phone was answered by Tyler, who was courteous and helpful.
He said I could bring the car there right away, if I wanted to, and he would check it out to see if they could help.
When I arrived Tyler and another gentlemen (whose name I do not know) examined the tire and rim.
They replaced the tire using the existing rim as they said it was only slightly kinked. They did not try to upsell me a new rim. They replaced the tire, did a safety check, and drove the car a minute or two to make sure it drove smoothly.
They handled everything quickly and the
charge was more than reasonable!
Competent, helpful, personable individuals.
