I love Ohio State Parks and Mohican State Park is the one that I've visited most recently. We had been in the Mansfield/Bellville area and decided to detour to Mohican State Park on our way back to Columbus. On this particular visit, we stopped at the covered bridge and enjoyed the fall foliage along the stream running under the bridge. Being a weekday in late October, the park wasn't crowded and was quite peaceful. You gotta love the Ohio State Parks.

Though typically busy, it is always clean and the people are friendly.Dog-friendliness: Pets are always allowed and we are talking with other people's dogs.

My family enjoyed it; however, we were with a huge group which added to our enjoyment. The camp ground lacked walking trails something we highly enjoy. There was a kid adventurous rope bridge to cross over the Mohican River. We look forward to visiting again.Playground: Old and rusted, but my daughter still enjoyed it. Plus she got to see what parks were like when I was a kid. ?Restrooms: Clean and cool. Hot water is hit or miss.Dog-friendliness: Dogs were not freely running around.Picnic area: Plenty of picnic tables both new and old. Less newer so be sure to bring table clothes.

We stayed for about a week in September 2023 in the full hookup area. Hiking. Sitting. Walking. Talking. Beautiful fall days. A daily visit to the store for an ice cream cone. Sitting by the river. What's not to like? This seems to be a perfect place to bring grandchildren for a week.We wouldn't hesitate to return if we are in the area again.

I stayed at campground B. No electric. No cell phone signal. It was perfect and quiet. The river was so close and the sound pulled me to sleep. I didn't take my dog on this trip as I was trying out a new lightweight tent. :)

Located just south of Loudenville, Ohio in the beautiful Mohican State Park, the park campgrounds include two main camping areas, Camground A and B. Campground A is geared to the RV Camper with paved pads and electric hook ups and has a swimming pool, shower facilities, playground and numerous restroom facilities. Campground B is located further up river and is set up more for primative camping. Most sites have a picnic table and fire ring and there are many riverfront sites at both Campgrounds as well.

The lady at the gate is always hostile, whether it's busy, or completely desolate. They have issues with letting you through to your campground, whether you are a visitor for less than a half hour, or even if you were the one who made the reservation and paid! Very cramped, and the bath house was terrible, no showers, and the only sink requires to be touched in order to run at all times. I don't think I'll ever camp here or recommend any one else to either.

Our stay at Mohican State Park Camp Ground was a memorable weekend. Plenty of things to do at the campground and in the area. Just down the road are canoe liveries and local food options. The camp store is well stocked with some food items, shirts, and souvenirs. The campsites are spacious, level, and never far from a restroom. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our time at Mohican State Park. We camped for two nights, took a canoe ride one morning, and hiked around 9 miles between the two days we were there. I recommend hiking the covered bridge trail. Campgrounds were very clean, including the shower areas. Campground had a nice little river running through it that you can walk or float around in.

We’ve been going to Mohican State Park campground every summer for a decade. It’s simply one of the best Ohio State Park campgrounds. Word of warning, though…. Reservations for the summer need to be booked 6 months in advance, or you’re likely to be out of luck. Even then, they usually go within minutes from the time they open for reservations.

The campground overall is nice. We camped in a tent only site right on the river. There were fewer trees and more road noise than we expected. The bathrooms were clean and the camp store was well stocked. It was too early in the year for tubing in the river or the pool to be open so I can't comment on those. Would go here again if we could get a cabin in the summer.
