EDIT: I'm writing this about 2 weeks after the first review. According to the health department guidelines hands should be thoroughly washed before putting on gloves when handling ready to eat foods. Using dirty hands to get gloves out of the box then putting them on and using them is just gross and how cross contamination gets people sick. Poor sanitation practices are why the tissue needs to be used to handle the doughnuts. This morning I saw the girl walk over to the case, reach in the box for gloves, put them on, and got doughnuts for the customer. No hand washing at all. No tissue was used. Who ever went over food safety and the proper use of gloves doesn't know what they're doing. And since the same people work both the bakery and meat department is there cross contamination going on in the meat department as well 🤔
Also, I would love to call in and talk to the manager but in a town this size I would just be considered a trouble maker.
I went in for some doughnuts last week and the more I think about it the more I feel as though I need to let people know. The lady who got them for me was printing off labels when I got there and she was wearing gloves. So the gloves she was wearing had most likely packaged the cookies she was printing labels for, she used those same gloves to push the buttons necessary to print the labels, she then proceeded to open the door on the doughnut case, got out my doughnuts, used the dirty calculator to add up my total, used the dirty maker to write the total on the bag and then most likely went back to packaging cookies or whatever with the same gloved hands.... DIRTY gloved hands. And yes, when I thought about it she absolutely did not use the tissue. Needles to say I did not eat my doughnuts. You need to go over the rules for preventing cross contamination with your employees before they get someone sick.

The staff seem to have a morose and unwelcoming attitude. Maybe during the tourist season, they are friendlier?
Their prices aren’t great, and they often have more employees than customers in their store.
“We appreciate your business!” is a slogan you see in the store, but it certainly does not seem to reflect their “corporate ethos.”
I suppose it’s the management style that contributes to the employees’ sulkiness and detachment?

I visited for the first time since it's been 'Stakes' (about 11ish years?)
Still the only place I know of that brings your groceries to your car for you. I cannot tell you how big of a help that is with 2 kids. The young man was very friendly, and carried a great conversation on our walk to my jeep. Super happy with his service, and I wish I could remember the feller's name.
I also adore the fact that they have WIC items tagged on the shelf; again SUPER helpful and efficient.
Very well put together, and kept store. Fair prices, and you'll be hard pressed to walk in and not find what you need. Highly recommend. 👌🏻
