From the front office staff to the doctors themselves, it feels like they are actually listening and not responding to invisible pressures from insurance companies and higher ups to make appointments short. It is refreshing to feel like someone is listening. The whole operation feels less robotic and cold. Keep in mind that because they are actually listening, sometimes appointments take a bit longer, and sometimes this means you might wait a bit - worth the wait. The process (but not the expertise) feels more like what a doctor's office used to be like 20 years ago, and I like that.

Excellent service. Easy to make an appointment. Friendly staff. Very thorough physicians. I've worked as an RN for 40 years. This is an excellent office.

I find it hard to believe you want to charge me $100.00 a year to come to you as a medical facility for administrative costs? sorry you lost a patient.

I have been a patient for 15 years I can no longer continue to go there they leave you waiting for an hour and a half to be seen. I sat in the exam room for almost 2 hours I went to leave the doctor stopped me in the hallway and was like oh no here I can see you now I said no I have to leave I had to get home he said ok sorry I'll refill your prescription, when I was leaving no one was there all the staff left for the day since it was after 6 pm, then the cherry on top he did not exam me or speak to me about how I was feeling and had the nerve to send me a bill for the appointment.

I started at MFP before the pandemic - hoping to find a physician focusing on root cause instead of prescription 'band aids.' I come every 6 months for my checkin for refills (per their process) and annual biometric screening + flu vaccine. None of these rxs are controlled. I am a punctual, low-maintenance patient with a background in healthcare. Completing my company annual screening form reduces my overall premium for my family: height, weight, Blood Sugar / Pressure, Cholesterol. While the front staff have always been friendly / helpful - I've debated staying with the practice bc of Dr. Stanforth. Despite positive reviews - I found her demeanor to be super condensing. During one appointment she lectured me about how busy they are, how many calls they field, and how prescription refills work - all bc I tried to proactively submit a refill. I explained I know how pharmacy works (it's my background). I was new to the practice - was happy to follow their process - you don't need to lecture me. I brought my annual biometric screening form to my most recent 6 month (like I did in '21). As soon as she entered the room and looked at my form she began a 10+ minute lecture on her distaste for tele-health /grocery clinics, how this form cannot be reflective of 'wellness,' Medicare law, and how I failed to schedule a 'wellness' appointment. Stating she cannot risk her license signing my biometric form since this isn't a scheduled wellness check. I tried to explain that no one in the 2-3 years here has stated I needed to schedule a SPECIFIC annual wellness since I am already here 2X a year. But also that when I brought the same form in Fall '21 there was no stated issue. Thus trying to understand why a THIRD appointment is needed - other than to create more revenue for her practice. I was APPALLED by the condescending lecture as if I am asking for something outlandish. A simple request that in the future we schedule one appointment as 'wellness' would have been sufficient. Because of her behavior (again) I finally stood up and stated I felt there was no longer a reason to continue the appointment. She's blocking the door otherwise I would have completely walked out. She finished my 'routine' questions and asked if I wanted to proceed with lab work - obviously not at this point. Her request was that if I chose to leave the practice to let the desk know so they don't waste their time proactively calling me (which they never have bc I always pre-schedule). Upon leaving the front offered to schedule my next 6 month and told them about what happened and that I would not like to return. They were very apologetic - offered for me to speak to the office manager or switch doctors. I was so mortified by her behavior - I just wanted to leave. Being lectured on something out of my control (the government, the name of the form, etc.) was not only excessive & disrespectful, but unnecessary. But also no self-awareness for her behavior and how this one sided conversation resulted in a patient leaving in tears. It makes me wonder how she treats patients who truly NEED more from her than I do. I'm disappointed for ALLOWING her to treat me this way not once, but twice. Thank you to the staff who have always been pleasant & helpful - but I cannot recommend Dr. Stanforth. Maybe she treats her older patients better - but I've yet to experience the same positive experience others have noted.

I've been a patient for a few years with Dr. Stanforth. I got used to her bipolar, nice one visit nasty the next ways. I really never knew who would show up. A mistake was made with scheduling my meds, which I rely on to function. I mentioned it to the nurse who told me I should mention it to the doctor. Big mistake, huge. She told me that this put her over the edge. She blamed me and called me selfish, for basically needing meds. She then attacked my sickness, and anything she could about me. It was shocking. I'm so sad and I hope no one else who needs a doctor's care gets this. Be warned!

This office is slow, unorganized and has lost three nurse practitioners in six months! Be prepared to be there for over an hour, the wait is ridiculous. I usually see the nurse practitioner because the main doctor is impossible to get into and the only other doctor is just rude. She has no bedside manner whatsoever. I have been going here for about 4 years and constantly have told myself to find another doctor. It was convenient and I did like Rebecca Moates, their nurse practitioner, but once she left, it has gone downhill! Finding a new doctor. Ridiculous that they can't keep anyone working in this office!

Dr Shelley Stanforth and her husband are 2 of the worst doctors in the Midwest. They don’t care about their patients in the slightest. They released me as a patient when I need medical care the most. They were scared of being sued. They should be because there blatant malpractice and unethical behaviors need stopped.

Horrible! Shelley Stanforth’ policies make her appear to be more concerned with making $$ than treating the patient. She requires that you HAVE to visit her multiple times in a year in order to get medication refilled. I was told that in order for her to refill a medication I’ve been using for more than 30 years I had to schedule a prescription appt., even though I had a physical coming up in 2 months. What?! First I was told it was because the physical is limited in time and there won’t be time to discuss this medication, 2nd that they want to make sure that the medication is not adversely affecting me, which I questioned because in all my years taking it, not one doctor said there was a concern for this. I guess in 30 years I saw alot of bad, unconcerned doctors. Then it was because they have been forced to do so by the insurance companies and all the doctors are now requiring this same practice. Um no, I called and scheduled an appointment to get established elsewhere and asked about this and was told that the only reason this would occur is if the patient skips their physicals. Something that I never do. My advice is to stay away, you’ll be thankful you did.

It's a shame that the medical field has become a business and not what it was designed to do, help people...this dr and others are turning away people just because of their health care....I'm taking names and going to do everything in and beyond my power to take away these drs licences and practice. I wish them the same luck in finder help as I have been having.
