Customer service is totally lacking. After all of these years I am considering switching banks. Totally rude on the phone and the bank manager Lydia reached out to me but once she got all of her information to try to sell me on a loan I immediately called right back with more questions and they were so rude to me but I let that go and the following day I gave her more information that she needed she was only nice when she wanted something from me now I'm going to get a hard inquiry I never even reached out to her about a loan she reached out to me but now I haven't heard from her . Also the feminine man or masculine woman that answered the phone they need to take a class in customer service Fifth Third should never have their employees answer the phone and say thanks for calling Fifth Third we are helping other customers please hold click!They don't give you an option of can I please put you on hold for a second, they don't give you an option to say your bank manager just called me I'm trying to return the call and it was 20 minutes before the branch was getting ready to close I really needed to call this manager back with questions. So I just kept calling back finally this woman or gentleman answered the phone and said is this the same person that keeps calling I said yes I don't need to be put on hold I just need to be transferred to your manager therfore finally after on hold again the manager who was not so nice after she got all my information asked me what can I do for you? US Bank here I come I have been with Fifth Third for about 20 years but this did it for me. I just got a letter in the mail from Fifth Third and looked on my credit karma. Once again like I said I got a hard inquiry. I knew this is going to happen. LOL the letter is saying that TransUnion gave my credit score at 712 lol but I had a FICO score of 720 I wish I could post the photos. So Cliff Notes I didn't even want a loan Lydia made it sound so great after she got all of my information and then customer service was so rude to me when I had to call back and ask questions I have since emailed her telling her never mind I had a bad taste in my mouth I get this letter. I went into this branch back in August 2022 to have my name changed to my newly married name on my account. I was told to give the manager a call (Alex) as soon as I received my new debit card which I did and my debit card was never closed. Yesterday, I was putting a down payment on a home we are building and looked at my bank account which was completely drained. Come to find out my debit card had never been closed and it had been hacked and someone had drained our account. Luckily, all of the charges had been pending so I immediately went to another branch and had that card closed and now these charges are not processing. What upsets me is 1. How hard is your job that you cannot close out a debit card when requested? 2. Why when I called to dispute these charges with fifth thirds fraud team they cannot do anything about it until the charges go through and my account is drained? That is the feedback I received when calling your dispute department. 3. Why have I not been notified by fifth third that suspicious activity is going on with my account? Not one call, email or text message has been received by myself or my husband. We had to take care of everything ourselves. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE on fifth thirds end. As soon as this is all taken care of, my husband I will be looking at another banking establishment after being long time fifth third customers.

I opened a new checking account in February 2020 and it hasn't been nothing but anightmare with all my autopay loans. They've completely destroyed my 790 credit rating to nothing! In just afew months!

Total crooks! Absolutely disturbed by the bank manager and how rude he was and turned his back on me while crying about my hard earned money and the fact that they can't find my $220.00.

Terrible customer service...I went in to open a new checking account, waited in line, then was told to wait for an employee in an office to become available. The employee at the counter went over to ask somebody in an office if they could help...he was very upset and emphatic that he was busy on the phone! I saw his response. A second male employee walked past me, then back to his office, then did it a second time...he never acknowledged my existence...I felt very invisible at this location, so never returning.
