I’ve worked with Source 1 several times but have had recurring issues with the quality of repairs on my Acura. They replaced the starter multiple times — each failure occurred within a few months, though every replacement was covered under warranty. After the last failure, I took the vehicle to an Acura dealer, who determined that the aftermarket starter being installed was not equivalent to the OEM part. Once an Acura OEM starter was installed, the issue was resolved.
Source 1 also replaced the timing belt at 100,000 miles. About 15,000 miles later, the timing belt failed. Acura’s inspection found the sleeve tensioner was installed incorrectly and the water pump was leaking. Source 1 offered to cover the cost of the failed timing belt but not the related repairs.
While the shop has been responsive and honored warranties, my experience raises concerns about the level of attention to detail in the repair work. Customers may want to verify that OEM parts are used and confirm that all work aligns with Acura specifications.
