Went to Dollar General because I accidently forgot to bring my dogs water bowl with me on a visit to Marion from Tennessee. I understand the store closes at 9pm tonight but I was running in just to buy a dog bowl, and it was 8:47 when I walked through the doors. The lady at the counter said we close in 5 minutes and I explained I was there just to get a dog dish she rolled her eyes at me and proceeded to tell the Customer at the counter I should have locked the doors. I am here for 1 day to visit my grandchildren andy kids and I had 2 of my grand daughters with me who I was going to get candy for at the checkout but because of the rudeness of the cashier decided to tell my grandkids I will spend my money else where. I am sure going to tell my friends and family not to shop at this dollar general.

Not the biggest fan of Dollar General stores. Feel they have robbed all the small towns across the US of Mom and Pop shops. They are convenient and everywhere you go. Stopped in this location for a Mother's Day card. Nice card for $2 that should have been $5.50. One of the few things I buy at these stores.

Bait & Switch. They had a 50% off shelf that I pulled an item from. Then the cashier says it has to be 2 for 1 because her register can't ring a half-off item. I declined the sale and she argued with me. I left. And this is in a time when the corporate level of Dollar General is sending through price increases that are price-gouging. For example, a 10 oz can of chicken which was $2.00 a few days ago, now $3.99. So, they don't care. Dollar General, as many other American food retailers, is using the cover of Covid and supply chain challenges to price gouge. A can of chicken should not double. Inflation is not currently riding at 100%...except where it is by opportunism.
