I was recently in this store purchasing Halloween costumes to be donated to inner city schools. However they had a very rude manager named Preston that came up to me and refused my sale because my girlfriend was purchasing 12 costumes as well, however we had completely different transactions. Keep In mind they have labeled the door with "12 costume limit " he then chose to brag about the amount of money the store makes weekly($500,000) and said he doesn't need my business and told me to leave the store. I then walked to the door and he said to his co-workers that I was a "dick" keep in mind I am 17 years old. I believe this is very unprofessional and needs to be discussed immediately. I love all other Marc's stores and would never expect this service from them.

I went into Massillon Marc;s for a closeout book. It was on the shelf and I asked the employee how much it cost. She said 99 cents. but, when I went to the register it was about $8.00. I told the cashier what had happened and I checked with an employee and she said it would be 99 cents. (It's a dot to Dot book, it's never gonna be an $8.00 book at a discount store) So, she called for the front end person who walks back and forth to the registers. That employee walked away when the cashier turned her light off for help. lol Finally she shows up and says it's whatever the register says. But, what about what your last employee saying it's 99 cents? So, I asked for a store manager,( who is not there) and another employee came up. Then she walked to the other side of the store , (while we now have 5 people in line behind me, and none of the employees asked for another register to be open) So they fake stand in manager told me I looked at the price next to the book, and that price said 99 cents. Lol. I said I never looked at a price. You don't put the price on the item , then I walked around and found an employee who told me the price! So, anyway, she was just to inept to talk with since she was just blowing smoke out her butt about everything. So I put in a complaint to the 216 265-7700 number. (it's suppose to be a corporate number, Lol). Jim called me back, whoever he is, he wouldn't say. He told me the guy over the store(Dean) is on vacation. The lady who took my number for Dean to call me back was unaware Dean wasn't there? Anyway, Jim was going to talk to the store employees about how to handle this type of situation. He didn't say he would honor his employees 99 cent price though. Soo, I talked to the store manager Mike today and he is absolutely clueless about any of this. I called the corporate store back for Dean to call and Janet called from customer care. I asked for the CEO since nobody is doing anything and she said that the CEO would NEVER be calling me. Why? A CEO should know what's going on in the store he runs. She could help but she didn't know anything that was going on. So I told her to ask Dean and to call me back. She called back in about 10 minutes and knew what had happened. But, while I was talking with her she said her attorneys said that until they sell the item, Marc's owned it, so it didn't matter that their employee lied about the price. After I laughed my butt off, I wondered when did Janet contact the attorneys? When she called she didn't even know what happened. After all the lies, one thing is for sure, if you go to Dollar Tree, the employees won't be lying to you about the price.

Customer service is not there. Sure, you have the selection and decent prices, but when it comes to check out, it is an unpleasant experience. There are 13 registers, of which 2 or 3 are usually opened. Today, I had the unpleasant experience of Joyce G. checking me out. She is not friendly, doesn't smile, and seems to have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. She pushes 2 items to the bagging area and then grabs them away from me, as if I'm trying to take them. She apparently didn't scan them and why was that my fault? NO personality. Who trains employees? Every job I've ever had, I was expected to be friendly, efficient, and make the customer feel like they want to come back. If we had another affordable option in town, I would bypass Marc's. Without good customer service, you have little to brag about. There have been so many below average experiences at this store that I could write a book.
