I've been dealing with Progressive Chevy for over 25 years and I have purchased all of my vehicles from them.... in the last few years the service department has really gone downhill drastically!! You seriously cannot trust their work, they will tell you that they have done something and charge you for it when they haven't even done it.... be very careful to double-check their work!! This place used to be great but lately I am very disappointed in them!!! We won't be buying any cars from them anytime soon.

We drove 3 hours because I was pre approved and they claimed to have credit amnesty. (Which my credit wasn’t bad to begin with) I was trading in my car. We get there and all the sudden I was required to pay $10,000 down if I wanted a vehicle. And they only offered me one vehicle. A $10,000 down payment was never discussed when I talked to anyone on the phone multiple times prior. Please do not go out of your way to go here. After I told them repeatedly I didn’t have any money down all I had was my car to trade in, they quickly got me out of their hair. And essentially rushed us out of the building to move on to other customers.

I purchased a 2021 GMC Terrain from Jim Hall, and he was helpful, and informative in every way. I would definitely recommend purchasing a car from Progressive, specifically from Jim. Fran in the financial department was great as well. Thank you!

My husband and I bought a "new to us" truck from Economy Auto Outlet in Massillon which is part of Progressive Auto Group. We test drove the truck yesterday and began the purchase process. My husband went to pick up the truck today while I was at work. When I get home I saw a big dent and scrape on the front drivers side wheel well. I asked what happened to the truck? My husband said he saw the dent this morning when he went to pick it up but figured he must have missed it yesterday when we purchased it. I told him I went over every inch of that truck BEFORE we purchased it and there was no dent. The pictures from Economy Auto Outlet's website also show there was no dent. We went back to the dealership a few minutes ago and spoke with Dale who sold us the truck. He basically said that that WE must have damaged it after picking it up which absolutely did not happen. I told him that that something must have happened to the truck in his parking lot last night which he then refuted. Obviously, this is a "he said, she said" situation since there is no way for either side to prove how the dent got there. I was hopeful that the dealership, in the interest of good business and customer service, would be willing to find a way to meet in the middle to address the problem. My expectations for Progressive Auto Group, Economy Auto Outlet and Dale to show some integrity was clearly asking too much. Dale basically said "I don't know what to tell you". He was not interested in finding an equitable solution to the problem. This is not the first time I've had integrity issues with Progressive Auto Group. It may take me a while to accept that some businesses have no intention of behaving with honor toward their customers, but I guess my lesson has finally been learned. BUYER BEWARE!

I don't write reviews typically, let alone bad ones, so I'm uncomfortable about doing this; but I did have a very bad experience and haven't had any follow up from the salesperson involved. Our salesperson was grossly lowballing our trade in and we knew it. We had been offered (from a different dealer) $15,000 for the vehicle. We had the same in instant offers, but other dealers didn't have a used car we were interested in. Our salesperson came back with just over $8,000! I wasn't offended by the low offer, but I was at their insistence that we couldn't possibly EVER get anything higher in a trade in or instant offer. I knew this wasn't true- but the salesperson wasted our day with bating that they felt the COULD get an agreeable deal. Instead, in conversation, he completely steered away from discussion of the price of the vehicle (insisting on only discussing what our monthly payment could be)and in the end (after several hours of wasted time) made an offer of a monthly payment that (doing the math on our end) equated to the same exact price on the trade- and same price on vehicle. He called that a "good deal". He was insulting in insisting there was no way we could get a good trade or offer on our trade- suggesting with his tone and words that it was laughable.I received a call from a representative a day or so later, and expressed my concerns. The rep validated the perspective that the value on the trade is simply not realistic and they had offered the best deal possible, but they could do the deal, if I was interested.I sold the vehicle this week by instant offer for $13,800 (mostly because I was frustrated at this point). The dealer assured me they would have gone more- if I wanted to trade. After Progressive, my wife and I were just nervous trying to trade in ANY capacity with ANY dealership. Made a purchase this week and was a seamless process, no worries. Out of curiosity, I had the new salesperson (in Mansfield) give an estimate on the trade in and he ballparked $13... more if they could drive and it was as described. If I had known- I would have waited to do a trade, but I was so nervous after Progressive, we felt safer possibly losing money (and we did). It's encounters like these, where no misunderstanding can be made, but just gross manipulation and mistreatment of the trust of a customer that ruins a reputation. I would have understood, and at least found it acceptable if they said they just wanted to make more money and that 1/2 value of the vehicle is all they could offer, but instead they INSISTED that the sale (that I just did) is impossible. Sad. I'm sure they will post a perspective to try to counter this- and I'm sure they see themselves as doing good business- but my own experience was obviously not an example of that. We were clearly being taken advantage of- and I and being offered 1/2 the value other dealers would (and did) pay. Bottom line- if they going to lie about that- what else is dishonest in their practice? We didn't go back to find out.

I've been working with Justis Hastings for the purchase of a 2020 Ram Laramie. Justis was great to work with and her manager Brian Glasper was great to work with.
