Although I do not yet use a product from Third Federal, I've spoken to their loan officers at many intervals looking at certain products over the course of this year. It's weird to review banks in the first place, but Third Federal has amazing products and fantastic staff. Earlier today I spoke with Kathleen in the Medina branch and she has bent over backwards to help me with one of their products. My current mortgage was through a brokerage local to me, but if I was choosing, Third Federal has unbelievable rates on mortgages and related products. Mainly, I find that interacting with banks can be stressful and intimidating. Kathleen and Third Federal do not feel that way, they feel more like an old-fashioned local bank. I highly recommend their service and their competitive rates.

We needed a notary. It was fine for that. Have had issues with banking there in the past.

Came here to simple cash a check as a non customer but they have me in the system to cash checks. I have now been here for 45 minutes and still don't have my cash while 3 people are trying to figure out how to cash a check? This is a bank correct you do cash checks often correct? Why did this not take 5 minutes TOPS! Train them on how to cash a check please! I will not be coming back to this location ever again!

Really frustrating outdated policies that make doing business with them unbearable. It’s almost as if their policies are written to discourage doing business with them. Very antiquated- extremely frustrating.

Please do not choose Third Federal for a mortgage product. Over 7 months ago we applied for a re-fi which is still in processing (we were approved 8 weeks ago and still not closed) We've been passed from representative to representative and they repeatedly ask for the same documents. I think they are more interested in getting customers off the market than actually helping them. We've wasted 7 months with this bank. I truly wish we had never heard of them.

I worked with Charlotte in the Medina branch for a home loan on a new purchase and she was absolutely wonderful. She really had an eye for detail and would contact me immediately with any questions on paperwork throughout the process. From the first time we spoke, I knew I was in good hands and that this deal would close on time. I will no doubt be recommending Third Federal going forward. Their rates were great, the closing costs were decent, and their service was really excellent!

I continue to love the Rate lock in the mortgage I got from these guys in February, when I bought my house. Rates have come down quite a bit since then so I was able to lower my rate by over .5 % and save over $50/ month on my payment. And it only cost me me $95 to relock my rate because they were running a promotion. Normally they would have charged me $295 to relock, which is what I expected. So when they told me it was $95, I couldn't believe it. What a great bank!! Even better than the credit union I normally work with!

Literally if I could rate negative, I would. My mortgage loan process with the Medina branch was just a bait and switch. In fact a scam!. I signed loan disclosures and one of the stated when I find a lower rate, notify them for them to beat the rate. My builder who wanted me to take the mortgage with them gave me a 5/1 arm rate of 3.175% which is lower than the 3.64% given by the bank. I forwarded this to my loan processor to request the rate match. 1st he said I had paid my 1% commitment fee ($2716) so I wasn't entitled to a rate match. Then after insisting, he said he would submit a request. Two days later he comes back to me saying the offer I emailed him, doesn't matching word for word what they offer so I have been denied. I contacted their complaint line, and the manager calls me with a bunch of gibberish. 2 months go by no communication from either the bank or my loan processor. Then 2 days to the closing of my house, my loan processor emails me to let me know they are contacting me about my loan and the title company tells them someone else is handling it. How convenient! Thanks to my builder I was able to close my loan but these scammers took my $2716 and did nothing. Absolutely nothing. I will never do business with this bank again so please be warned if you are because it could happen to you. I feel very deceived both by my loan processor and the bank that, after I was deceived to pay a 1% commitment fee $2716 with the knowledge that I would be given a rate match of a lower rate, I was treated that way. Pretty much false advertising.

I would not recommend choosing Third Federal for a home loan. The people are nice, but their response times, follow up, accountability, follow through and general customer service are lacking. It seems as if they are understaffed to complete the work that needs to be done.
