About Headlands Beach State Park
Headlands Beach State Park offers a relaxing outdoor experience with a wide, peaceful beach and scenic views. Visitors can enjoy a nice trail leading to the beach, passing through dunes and offering views of a lighthouse. The park has plenty of parking, including spots for RVs, and features a stone wall with a gorgeous view. The beach area is large and open, making it ideal for hanging out or exploring. However, there are limited bathrooms, and some may be closed, requiring extra walking to access facilities. The shoreline has many rocks and stones, which can be difficult to cross barefoot; wearing shoes is recommended for walking in the water. Some areas near the water have netting to make crossing easier. The park is great for nature walks, beachcombing, and enjoying the scenery, with interesting rocks and lake glass often found along the shoreline. Overall, it’s a quiet spot to enjoy nature, with easy trails and beautiful views.
This beach is HUGE! We had a nice day. It was early September so it was not crowded at all. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy the beach. In the summer the park is much more busy. Check out Headlands during the Sand Sculpture tour 👌

Beautiful beach. Best in Ohio. Plan ahead and bring water shoes or sandles. Beach is covered in small stones and sand gets HOT. Enjoy.

I like the sand beach but the last time saw a dog and it was uncomfortable.
