Went to Animal shelter it's seems if you want to get a dog orcat it's like they pick the animals or if you like (Blackie) but they pick out the animals for you and if itdoesn't work out with this animal. Your stuck with this animal nobody picks my animal out. Seems like some of the workers are not happy they seem sad. Maybe your in the wrong field.

Staff was amazing, and caring. Clean and tiddy. Animals were precious, and well tended too

We were victims of discrimination and deception by this place of business. We discovered we had been lied to multiple times and the shelter does not follow its own procedures nor protocols. Each staff member had their own version of how the adoption process was supposed to be structured or handled. If we were granted an animal visit we were then quickly dissuaded from adopting the animal we there for based on our age and that the animal would need “extra care” that the staff felt like we (my husband and I) couldn’t handle. The last straw; We were given a phony appointment time! When we showed up for said appointment no one knew why we were there. We were accused of not filling out an application, which we had done 3 times! Ultimately, we were denied yet again to “adopt” the animal we were there for.We have owned animals for several years and we always get our animals from shelters. We have never had a worse experience with a shelter like what we have experienced with this organization. We will not be back.

Always be sure to get your animal checked out by a separate vet as soon as you leave this place and watch for contagious disease - Shelter staff are personable and informative but not totally competent. The cat I adopted had a runny eye, which I asked about when starting the foster period and was told it was checked out and there was no issue. Upon getting a panel done, it was feline chlamydia which can be very harmful if left unchecked and is contagious to other cats.

gave my pet his shots quickly and clicked his nails! took maybe 10 minutes maybe not even that. the only downside is that they don't give feline leukemia shots but other than that a great place :)

So good! We adopted a cat and we named it Tortilla. He is super friendly and loves my family. Staff was super kind too. Our cat is so cute too. The only problem is maybe they do not take health concerns because our old one, Kelly, died at 5 years old due to cancer. Other than that so good!

Terrible experience. I had an appointment to surrender my dog unfortunately due to personal problems and unforeseen circumstances. Everything took place outside including me signing paperwork on the hood of my car. I left my purse at home by mistake and used my debit card information on my phone in which an employee got from me to process payment and walked inside the building leaving me outside while she's inside with my phone and personal information(you have to get buzzed in and can't just walk in). Once they came back outside after leaving me to wait for several minutes I was told that my dog was too aggressive because she jumped up at the cage and growled when workers approached her so therfore I had to take her back with me. They didn't even give her a chance or consider the fact that she was scared being in a new environment surrounded by a bunch of dogs, she is not aggressive and have never attacked a human or an animal.

I will not give a star but had to. I took a 4year old cat home for seven day trai soon as I walked in my apartment the cat got very aggressive when I took her out the carrier.. I let her go into my bedroom with door close cuz my 3 year old cat wanted to play with her. But I would not let him cuz she is mean. she went in my closet and did not want to come out eat play or be bother, I had a hard time getting her out my closet because she was very determing to be very aggressive. I finally got her out took her back the very next day. and the heatless supervisor/manager tells me now that i can come back a month from now after she had the volunteer worker tell me I have to call and or come back two days to set up an appointment. In the beginning I was told before I adopt and take home for seven day trail that if the cat did not work out I can bring back and get another cat and do the same seven day trail. I ask why so many different changes now. But the message is quite clear that supervisor did not want me to come back and i can see the smirk on her face. I ask her why the changes and she says that their policy I ask can I see it cuz its not in the copy of my contract, I ask her is that' the real reason and related to her I should not be held responsible or punnish like. They are the ones that let me take a aggressive cat home which I could have got seriously hurt. That face and actions speaks loud and clear that she is Bais..

I have a feral female cat living near my yard & came to LHS to pick up a trap to prevent anymore litters. I stood & waited for awhile in a small area, no seating or a waiting room. This facility is uninviting and located in a warehouse surrounded by other businesses with limited parking. When I went to drop off the cat to get spayed, I had to fill out a form in my car. I have been donating to LHS for approximately 20 yrs and now I'm contemplating whether to donate anymore ? The Geauga HS called the "Rescue Village" is a beautiful place for animals, just look online at the photos and read the reviews. I truly feel the animals @ LHS deserve a more homey and pleasant facility..

I had an appointment to go look at a kitten. The kitten seemed much bigger than what the app said and showed. However, he was still listed as a kitten for the highest amount. Another lady pointed out when looking at a "kitten" that it too looked like a full-grown cat. The cat I looked at was not at all friendly, and was trying to attack us, so we decided to look around as I watch small kids, and I didn't want to stress the poor boy out. When we turned the corner, there was this adorable little orange kitty (3 years) rubbing all over the cage. We spent time with her and bought her. She was marked down to $30.I had a new staff member helping us. The toys, carrying case, accessories, were really cheap, and I walked out with a carrying case for $10 and a few toys and a breakaway collar for her for all under $10 too. The staff we met was nice. No issues at all. I did end up getting charged for full price even though she was discounted, and I realized halfway home something didn't add up. The girl was super nice, and again, I understood that she was new trying to learn everything. They refunded my money on my card, and it was back on in a couple of days. The only thing I didn't understand was she was 3 in March (same bday as my oldest son ?), and they said she had been there 3 yrs. She had an upper respiratory infection, and with covid, I imagine it made it harder for kitties to get adopted. I assumed she must have come in as a kitten, but man, she acts like she was a stray out fighting the streets for years for food. The min she hears food she's on you. Got a glass of milk? She's pawing at it, trying to drink it. If you have any cheese, forget about it. The little monster will take your shredded cheese, cheeze it's, and gobbles it up. I had a bag of Jalapeño cheese popcorn in my room I had as a snack one night and I walked in one day to see the bag open, popcorn everywhere like she was having a party by herself, and it wasn't hard to figure out who took it. She still won't quit swatting at my older kitty and trying to bite him, and she's a fabulous screen door climber and curtain crawler. I have the claw marks to prove it ??.I would definitely recommend this place. They had so many kitties there for adoption. Please adopt, quit buying cats because they just breed more then, get your cats fixed, stop letting them outside for any reason. They are cats they will adapt to staying inside where it is safe.If you have a friendly stray, take them for the TNR programs most places have. There are so many cats needing homes that they can't save them all. Donate supplies, food, money, any help they would love. I love my girl and her personality, even if I'm her chew toy, and she bites my feet, ankles, hands, arms, anything her little chompers can get when she wants a pet. If you're looking, I'm sure they have a kitty to fit your family. Remember they provide your cats with their vaccines, have them fixed, and I even got a voucher for a free check up at a vet. I didn't see the dog side, but the parts I looked at looked clean, and it was morning so most of the kitties were waiting for breakfast it looked like. Go there and see what they have, you may just find your next furry best friend.

I came to the Lake Humane to donate cans of Royal Canin cat food because my older cat and new kitten did not like the texture of the sliced food. I was so happy to be able to help, especially with a special need food!! The lady at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful! I am extremely glad I can help in any way!!

A very pleasant experience, with people who honestly care about the animals, and ensuring that they are going to good homes, and to assess the animals well-being first and foremost.
