The worst place to sell anything to. I took dozens of name brand purses to sell. They offered me $3 for two purses I spent over $120 on England and totally ignored the rest because they weren't for "teenagers" even though several of them were from Claire's and Icing. Won't ever be returning here again!

I would like to be able to handle my own bank card during check out. Not for someone else to be touching it and seeing it. Also people at check out give judgemental looks. Also there should be an adult working there. To many teenagers.

Why are the people who work there so rude. Apparently being miserable is a job requirement. Plato’s seriously needs to either clean house and get some nice staff or hold training on customer service

Only a few nice people that work here. Everyone is mostly rude and judgmental. I came in to sell clothes today the girl couldn’t even say one word to me when I was standing at the counter. I walked around for a about 5 minutes then looked at the front to see if they were almost done. Made direct eye contact with the one girl with red hair and I smiled at her and she didn’t say one word. I looked back up to see both girls on their phones. So I went up and asked if they had finished going through my clothes. They had finished and just didn’t say anything. Super rude and unprofessional. If you’re reading this go to the Plato's in Lyndhurst!!! They are super nice there and don’t take clothes with holes and stains!!!

The employees need some serious training. I love this store and the selections, but If I have to deal with those staff members everytime I much rather go to Mayfield. You cant have a bunch of a teenagers run a store, I have never seen an actual adult inside this location and thats clearly an issue since your employees lack basic customer service. I higly suggest closely monitoring the actions of them, Im never greeted when I walk in, I can never find anyone for a fitting room, they all kick the bags of clothes and throw them around, They barley even look through the clothes. And they are all RUDE! Dont waste your time. Go to Mayfield. Train your employees

They always have excuses on what they aren’t going to take. If you take something in there that’s too expensive they decline and if you take something on and they’re just mediocre they want to pay you minimal for it. I don’t know how the store stays in business, they should be called Plato’s goodwill and surplus cheap store. This is my second attempt I will never ever try to sell anything with Plato’s closet ever again.

So, read everything on their website and maybe call ahead to make sure they are buying when you are selling. This will save you some hassle.I drove 20 minutes into Mentor with my stack of clothes and there was a sign on the door that said, "we are not buying at this time." When I walked in to check, they told me it was because they did not have enough cash to offer payouts for clothes they bought. I learned a lesson, go earlier in the day.A week later, I was in Mentor so I stopped in with that same stack of clothes. I walked in and the counter attendant told me that I needed a basket or bin and they would not accept what I brought. I eyed a stack of bins behind the desk and asked if I could use one of theirs and she just looked at me. So, went out to car and luckily had a recyclable shopping bag for the clothes.I went back in and filled out the card, including my name, address and cell phone. She told me that I was the third in line so...I said, "So, do you text me when it's ready for offer?" And she says, no, we don't text. You will just have to come back and make sure it's before closing at 8pm. Seriously, how hard is to text the customer that their offer is ready. So, I go run errands and came back in 45 minutes. At time, they accepted 3 of my 10 items and paid me $12. I was fine with the offer, just wish the entire transaction would have been smoother. My advice is to read everything on the website before going.

total disaster, wear clothes for, most new with tag, hs already a calvin dress for 160 dollars with tag. They told me that they would not accept anything because the clothes were out of season, I did not understand, I had a jean skirt with an unused label…. I did not understand anything. Never again!!! Do not lose. their time.

I was very unhappy with their workers. They offered me 2$ for a pair of 50$ leggings and 15$ for a 350$ Michal kors purse. And it didn’t really seem like they looked at the other items I brought in.

felt very unwelcome here. the teenage girls at the front gossiped about and laughed at the clothes I brought then proceeded to take none of it, despite seeing very very similar items on the floor

I called up here before I even attempted to bring in the items. They told me the counters close at 8 for TAKING clothes. I sat there and watched them pick through my and about 4 other current customers clothing for all of 2 seconds and then throw them to the floor. I was told they weren’t accepting anything because of “high inventory.” If you don’t want to waste your time with those snobby teenage girls in the store I’d recommend the Mayfield location or just going to sell your clothes else where.

Visit request always nice helpful staff on hands and a well organized store with a good selection of items. If you haven’t put this on your list of shopping destinations you certainly should!

I loved my experience selling at Plato’s mentor! I brought in my clothes up from college this thanksgiving break and I got great money for it! the staff was super friendly especially the girl who rung me out named Mariana! and the store was nicely decorated for the holiday season Would definitely recommend stopping by!

Don’t sell your clothes here. I had a very similar experience to most of the 1 star reviews people are leaving. Very judgemental, rude teen girls working here that ignore you. especially one girl Elizabeth. Most of the stuff I brought in to sell was from forever 21, Just Polly, Target, and Romwe. brought in a basket of maybe 50 clothes and they offered me $8 for four clothes: what a joke. All my clothes were neatly folded, recently washed, great condition, and within the targeted demographic. Most of my stuff didn’t even appear looked through as some was in the same order. Also didn’t fold my clothes, just sloppily threw them in the basket. The store was also a mess: loads of clothes on the floor in dressing rooms, thrown on racks; etc. Had a much better experience at the Plato’s Closet in Lyndhurst: in fact they took almost half my stuff! Will never be going to this location again.

Plato’s is a JOKE. Brought in 3 full boxes of clothes including American Eagle jeans and shorts, guess, BKE, fashion nova, and more. They didn’t take a single item out of anything. They said it was because everything was older than 2 years old and inventory purposes. More than half of the American Eagle jeans were less than 2 years old and in amazing condition. Again biggest waste of time and a joke. Going to try Poshmark.
