This was our first time dining at The Kitchen. Sam was our server and was both friendly and knowledgeable about menu items. Chef Cassandra prepared our food: a Monte Cristo and Maple Bacon French Toast. Both were delicious and required take-home boxesVegetarian options: Both Vegetarian and vegan options were listed on the menu..They are gluten-free, dairy free; all natural meats, cage free eggs and list such delectable delights as: Avocado toast. Chocolate Quinoa Breakfast Bowl; Vegetable omelets impossible burgers .... you-name-it! Whether you want a healthy dish or something indulgent this is the place for it.

Heard this place was good and let me tell ya, walked in and was pleasantly greeted, our server came over and introduced herself and was very nice. Food came out fresh, quickly, and hot. Was amazed at the amount of food that came with the “Big Breakfast” ($16.00) SOOOO worth it!!! Two REAL sausage links, 2 pieces of REAL bacon, one big slice of Country Ham, eggs, toast, 3 HUGE pancakes (made from scratch), and their potatoes are probably the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. Also we got the Eggs Benedict and Tanya said the Hollandaise sauce was the best she’s ever had. Coffee and unsweetened tea were fresh and I even got a carafe at my table HUGE WIN !!! 5/5 for this place and highly recommended 8am-2pm daily

Floor was shaking non stop. Had 2 employees, one was on FaceTime being really annoying and loud, could hear every word in their conversation. The food was mediocre at best. Red velvet pancake was gross. They put so much arugula on my avocado toast and barely a smear of avocado. Didn’t toast bagel for sandwich and forgot to put the egg on. Service was horrible, waiter standing around talking while she’s checking my table out and people are standing next to her, zero privacy for my card number as she’s whipping it around in front of them. Not impressed.and the waitress shouldn’t be cooking! Clearly has 0 knowledge hence why my avocado toast was disgusting!

This was the worst French toast and cheese eggs I've ever had. The French toast tasted funny like it was cooked on a dirty grill and the eggs tasted like powered eggs with sharp cheese with black dots in it, I asked for American cheese. I will not recommend or order from the Mentor location again. I need a refund. The food is awesome at the independence location.

Waitress didn't acknowledge me & tried to seat the ppl behind me first.Waitress didn't write my order as I said it, ended up coming back to my table to ask for half of my order.Waited 45 minutes for eggs Benedict that was barely warm. Side was never delivered.Waitress only came to my table 3x for my entire visit & that was to take my order, ask for my order again, & shortly after the food was delivered 45 minutes later. I went to the counter to pay.2 other tables walked out before they got their food. I heard the waitress blame the long wait on the "elderly" cook.

If you are looking for a restaurant with very good breakfast selections stop at The Kitchen on Mentor Ave .I ordered 2 blueberry pancakes that were awesome. The portions are huge, the taste is excellent. The lady that cooked that day was Linda .Linda was very attentive as was my server Alivia.I also like that a pot of coffee is brought to the table so you do not have to ask for a refill.Coffee has a very good taste also.Pricing is reasonable, atmosphere is nice and service is excellent.I think they also serve lunch.

Horrible biscuits and gravy. They give you like turkey dinner gravy over the biscuits with zero sausage. Distinctive burnt dirty grill taste.

Absolutely the best place to come with family. Service was amazing by both the server and the chef, great atmosphere. Food was great and so filling. Will definitely recommend it for tourists and such, and will definitely come back in the future!

Went in earlier for brunch with the wife and little 3mo. Food is OUTSTANDING. Fresh, not greasy or heavy, just absolutely flavorful and didn't feel like a slug for eating it. I had the California Omelette which was huge and comes with a solid portion of potatoes. Wife got a skillet which was also tasty, unfortunately did not have any GF pancakes, i think due to the power outage days prior and such, but typically look like they have very solid and unique GF options.Cost for that was 30 bucks plus tip (i had a coffee). We had our 3mo and they could clearly see we were struggling outside and came and opened the door for us. Were as accommodating as could be! I will say it is tight in there so if you have a stroller use an umbrella. they let us fold ours up and just put it to the side. But definitely not a place you can park it next to a booth. This was just after the tornado/power outages. They just got power on it sounded like rather shortly before opening. Though they take credit cards, they couldn't as the cell towers and such were still down and very iffy. So that was inconvenient for them and us, but clearly not their fault. That said, despite the stress level on their end, they had great food and awesome service.Absolutely will go back (and likely check out one of Sean's (owner) other spots. Loved it!Dietary restrictions: Solid GF options (wife has a gluten allergy)Parking: Parking lot right in the front with the plaza.Kid-friendliness: Tight quarters for strollers but they were as accommodating as can be. Saw a family with kids when we walked in.
