Fraudulent Charges After Checkout — Be Cautious with Walmart Pay
Save money. Live better? Not in my experience.
On July 18th around 8:30 p.m., I purchased a single bottle of Stella Rosa L’Originale Stella Pink wine from this Walmart Supercenter (Store #2932 in Knoxville, TN). The total was under $15. I paid using Walmart Pay via the app on my phone, which already had my credit card linked.
Two days later, I discovered unauthorized charges made just minutes after my legitimate purchase—exactly like what happened to me a year ago at the Chardon, OH Walmart. In both cases, someone else’s purchases were charged to my credit card shortly after I checked out at the self-checkout lane.
This pattern is alarming, and it has only happened to me at Walmart. I strongly suspect a security flaw in the Walmart Pay system at self-checkout. Despite using Apple Pay and my card securely everywhere else, these incidents have happened only at Walmart.
I called the store to report the issue, but received no apology, no concern, and no help—just a blunt “call AMEX.”
I feel violated and disappointed, not only by the breach itself but by the lack of customer care.
Walmart, please take this seriously. Your customers deserve better.
⚠️ If you use Walmart Pay, check your card transactions immediately after checkout. Someone may charge their own purchases to your card within 2–3 minutes of your exit.

I personally didn't go in, but my man LOVED how clean it was inside and organized. The people were helpful in directing him to what we needed, I was VERY grateful they had what I needed the most. Thank you.

A relative and I both had lottery tickets to cash in while we were shopping. I had one ticket and received the correct amount back. My relative had multiple tickets and received less than what they expected. The employee at customer service INSISTED that one ticket wasn’t a winner, so that was why less was given back. Of course, the tickets are torn up and thrown away after scanned, so we couldn’t ask to see the tickets again.
A little while after our trip, my relative told me they scan their tickets before cashing in so they know they’re getting the correct amount. By that time, it was too late to go back and try to fight the store on it.
Dishonest, disrespectful, and thieving employees at this store…maybe not stealing from the store itself, but straight from the customers. We’ve had so many terrible experiences at this location, this just adds to the list. Beware of choosing this location to do your shopping.

This store is not as nice as it used to be. Shoppers are rude and inconsiderate of other shoppers. Employees are nice and helpful.
It's better than it used to be.

Not many selections. I don't usually buy clothes at Wal Mart. The quality is low, but I needed workout pants. I found a name brand pair of Capri ' s they seem ok
