I sent my 3 year old German shepherd, Zoey, to Jake due to her anxiety and so that I could better manage her. She ended up having to stay three weeks because Jake felt she wasn’t where she needed to be. I missed her so very much but appreciated him for taking the time with her. She has been home for a couple months and she is a different dog. Jake helped us understand her anxiety and how to manage it. We work with her everyday and will continue to do so. She absolutely has a better quality of life thanks to this training program.

We sent our 7 month Doberman, Baron to Jake for a two week obedience training course! When he came home he was so well trained and we were so happy with how Jake worked with him and us. He goes back to “visit” and get refresher time when we go on vacation. So happy with A Leg Up K9! Thank you Jake for all you did for us!

We love A Leg Up K9!! Jake trained our lab, Gunner. We are thrilled with the results! Jake took the the time to train our whole family including our young children to work with our puppy! He has always been available for questions and Gunner is always happy to see him for boarding when we go on vacation! Highly recommend this training to anyone looking for training for their dog! I also loved that it’s never a specific time limit. He works with the dog and the family for as long as it takes to get every one comfortable with the training!

Taking my mini goldendoodle to Jake was the best decision I could have made! She is now responsive to commands and is a happy well adjusted 9 month old puppy. Jake is extremely effective and extremely helpful with any questions I had. Highly recommend A Leg Up K9!

My family could not be happier with the results of the training our dog Jarvis received from Jake at A Leg Up K9. We adopted Jarvis from a local shelter when he was about 6 months old. We were immediately smitten with this energetic, smart and loving pup. By the time Jarvis was a year old he was quite large, about 75 pounds and while he still had the most amazing personality he was a bit difficult to control at times and with 3 young kids we needed help so that we could all live in harmony together. Jake to the rescue! Jarvis stayed with Jake for a couple of weeks while we were on vacation to receive his training. When we returned Jake met with my whole family and helped us learn how to continue to work with Jarvis and utilize his newly acquired skills. My kids are ages 11, 9 and 5. I'm so happy that they got to be part of the follow up training sessions and learn more about Jarvis' behaviors and his training. My entire family has been able to more fully enjoy the companionship of Jarvis with no more stress. Jarvis is also so proud of himself - it's been neat to see a new side of his personality come out now that he clearly understands expectations and rules of the house. He's still the same goofy fun loving pup but without the chaos and mayhem. I highly recommend A Leg Up K9. Thank you Jake!

We sent out six month old puppy. We were nervous but are so happy with our decision. Our puppy listens so well now and is well behaved. It took longer than the two weeks and it was a lot of work afterwards to make sure his training stuck. But it was definitely worth it.

Our 8 month old goldendoodle Teddy went from a curios spaz who liked to pull my wife during walks to a still curious but we’ll behaved pup that we take to work with us every day. He follows his commands, is great with our girls, and goes with me just about anywhere (on or off leash). My wife says she likes him a lot more after his time at “boot camp.” I love that we can give him more freedom because of his training. Teddy is our first dog, but if we ever have another, that dog will unquestionably go to Jake at A Leg Up K9. The. Best.

We LOVE our dog but some of her behaviors were causing frustration and stress in our relationship with her. To train a dog affectively, a lot of time is needed and it needs to be consistent. As a busy family of 4, we weren’t able to train her in a way that was affective and that was fair to her. A Leg Up K9 was just what we needed!Jake is amazing at what he does, and it was worth every penny. We now have a more positive relationship with our dog and aren’t worried about her safety running out of the yard anymore. Our friends can come over without being jumped on immediately and we can take her anywhere with us - even off leash! We highly recommend this training for every dog owner. Life changing!

Best decision we have made. Dropped our puppy off before heading for vacation. Apprehensive, yes. When Driggsy's training session had concluded, we picked up a confident, obedient dog. Not just with me, but with our 3 young kids as well. The training methods not only made her a more obedient dog, but changed her behavior in our home. When the door bell rings or we have visitors, she sits on her training bed that comes with the program. When commanded, she walks in heel off leash outside, YES, off leash without worry. Well worth every penny. The follow up visits will only reinforce her commands. If YOU follow Jakes command training instructions, and follow them with confidence, your dog WILL see you as the alpha.

5 Stars!! We took our 5 month old goldendoodle to A Leg Up K9 and our pup came home a new puppy. Jake the owner was very quick on responding and gave us updates while our pup was with him. Our whole family are able to take the pup on walks with confidence. Now that our pup is trained with A Leg Up K9, we do board him there while we are out of town and he comes home a happy dog!

When we decided to bring our Australian Shepherd/Husky mix puppy, Luna, to Jake we were feeling extremely hopeless. She was a nightmare at home, on the leash and in the car. We tried everything we could, but nothing seemed to work on her. She was extremely stubborn and simple daily tasks were difficult, if not impossible to accomplish at home. However, when we went to pick her up after the 2 week training program it was like we got a different dog back. She was no longer uncontrollable, she wasn't trying to dislocate our arm when she was on the leash and was now a fully controlled pup. Even in the car she is now perfectly behaved. It's been a few weeks since we have had her back and our lives are significantly better. There is still work to be done with her, but Jake's advice and quick responses to our questions have helped us learn how to properly handle her.

Jake at A Leg Up K9 was very effective at getting our 1-year-old sheepadoodle to be very obedient and follow several useful commands, such as “on your bed.” He communicated with how things were going in the initial 2 weeks, and the follow up visits and education have been effective to keep her on the right track. Highly recommend him to train your K9. We have a much happier and less stressful home with an obedient dog.

I sent my at-the-time 5 month old puppy to A Leg Up for 2 week board and train. Jake answered all of my questions and talked with me on the phone about his program before I made the decision. I was very happy with the results! Because of my puppy’s age, as Jake warned, he needed a couple of extra days at the facility in order to meet Jake’s training expectations, but he did this without charging me any extra. I’ve been scheduling the follow up sessions with Jake about every two weeks, and it’s been very easy to get the day/time I need. The training absolutely works, but you do have to work with your dog on your own. Personally, my expectations are less strict than Jake’s expectations were at camp, and it shows during the follow up sessions lol! Overall though, this has been a good experience. Jake is very helpful and knowledgeable, as well as consciously aware of how much this program costs. He knows how much we spend on it, and so he makes sure we get our money’s worth. I adopted my puppy as a senior in college to take him to graduate school with me this fall. I absolutely needed this type of training to make this transition with him successful!

We took both of our Goldendoodles to A Leg Up K9 to be trained. Prior to training our dogs would take off out the front any chance they had and we would have chase other throughout the neighborhood. When we would walk them they were always pulling at the lease and would be easily distracted. Since getting them back I can leave the front door open and they don’t move. Walking is a breeze with no leash, the very rarely break stride (still working on this). Definitely a night and day difference and have already recommended multiple people to A Leg Up K9
