I custom ordered an almost $90K Avalon boat from Alexander's Landing and will never buy from them again. They do not go through your boat to make sure its rigged correctly. The put the wrong prop on the boat which is now going to cost me $1K, they didn't make sure everything worked on the boat - did not set up my auto trim nor make sure things like my stereo speakers all worked - which they do not. It was delivered to me mid to end of October and they still wanted to charge me over $600 to winterize when they are the ones who drove it in order to set it up. I literally picked it up (they are located on the lake) and drove it for maybe 30 minutes before loading and then had to winterize it. They also did not know some of what items were when I was doing the custom order and going through the options.
Update: Avalon reached out to Alexander's Landing and apparently I'm being blamed because I haven't taken good care of the boat. They speculated to the manufacturer that I changed the prop instead of owning they used the wrong prop. Told the manufacturer that I brought the boat in with damage to my bimini and frame that they fixed. There is no damage to my bimini and my frame is bent because the connector failed while towing and my bimini flipped which bent the frame. A part failure. They also told the manufacturer that I had ruined my cover in a storm - which there was no storm. The cover fell apart after 2 tows. I did not ask for it to be replaced because it is cheaply made. I wouldn't recommend Avalon or Alexanders. Issues: towable bimini frayed, ladder fell apart the second or third time I used the boat, speakers don't all work, bimini connector broke which damaged my bimini, my lilly pad ladder comes unscrewed from the floor of the boat, the screws that connect the Lilly Pad diving board ad aren't long enough so can only turn once so constantly re-screwing, never set up my active trim, wrong prop so had to buy a new one for $1K, radio constantly reboots and loses bluetooth connection.. just off the top of my head. Not all issues are Alexander's fault.

Couldn't begin to explain with words how awesome Alexander's Landing is, but I'll try. They were the only one out of three marina's to fix our motor (Mercury Optimax 115). Kuddos to Ken, Chris, and Grace for being such great people. I know our engine tested your patience threshold but you got it done and running great. If you have a Mercury outboard, take it here. We're customers for life.

Took my motor in for preventative maintenance and a tune up. They found multiple things wrong on a motor that had no issues. 1k later they said it was good. I took it out the first day I had it back. It wouldn't start. A fuel injected motor that never failed to start on two tries took six times to fire. Once it did start, it shook horribly. Call them up and told them something was wrong. After a week I called to see if they found the issue. They said motor was ruined and needed replaced. Their handy work cost me 9k in a new motor. Obviously, not purchasing it through them. Untrustworthy.

Avoid at all costs. I took a 2006 Mercury 60hp EFI in for a preemptive stike on an impeller that had no issues but was 10 years old. They suggested also changing the thermostat. Which I figured they knew what they were talking about, so I agreed. They then "discovered" a bad coil and a bad fuel injector. $1k later they said she was as good as new. Took it out the next day, took 6 tries to get a fuel injected motor to fire (in 16 years, it never took more than 2 attempts to fire it, even in freezing temperatures). When it did fire it shook terribly. Took it back the next day. Motor is completely shot. Needs a new power head. I went from small routine maintenance to a new $9k motor thanks to these clowns fooling around with a motor that was fine before they started phucking with things.

Bought our first pontoon boat here years ago and we loved it. Stopped out last summer and they were selling only the most expensive pontoon boats. Don’t get me wrong, they sell nice boats but my pontoon boat will never be as expensive as a house. We will shop around a bit.
