I have been visiting Big Tree Plantation with my family since 2015. The staff and volunteers have always been nice and helpful. In the past, they would wrap the tree and put it on my car, securing it for transport. However, this year, they brought the tree to my car and said good luck. There was no sign or communication that I was on my own to secure the tree to my roof. While I understand the reason why I had to secure the tree myself, if I had known beforehand, I don't think I would have bought the tree there. This was not the Christmas service I thought I would receive.

We have been coming here for 10 years for the holiday spirit, trees (we have never cut our own), but most of all, service. The last 2 years have been challenging, with what seems like a weaker selection of trees and larger crowds. But we remained loyal, as this was our tradition, and the service /kind employees were second to none. This year we were extremely disappointed to learn - only after purchasing the tree - that due to insurance reasons, they can no longer help tie the trees down on the car. I know this is likely not their decision to make, but it feels like a signed waiver could be a good workaround. Instead, I watched as my husband and other customers fretted over tying up a tree to their car, hoping it survived the drive back down the highway, as the employees stood around and talked. It wouldn’t have been so disappointing if there were signs noting this change in policy, or even a verbal explanation before buying the tree. Nothing …until the tree got to the car. It felt a little icky, and unfortunately this may be the last straw for us.

Last night we got our tree and were not told until we went to have tree put on my car that they don't tie tree to your car anymore. In previous years this was always a service they performed. My son and I spent over 40 minutes trying to tie the tree to my car. We have always loved getting our tree here but won't come back again. They need to post signs that they don't offer this service anymore.

This place is so nostalgic for me, as I grew up going here to pick out a Christmas Tree. I love coming here. It is a beautiful farm and a perfect holiday errand as the Christmas season arrives. You're able to bring your dog along, as well, which is always a fun perk! They also have a section where you can pet and feed the goats on the farm. The Christmas Trees here are so beautiful! We had so many to choose from. Once we selected one, a worker was able to help us check-out and get us situated for our car to pick the tree up. You take the tag from the tree and pay for it inside the barn/gift shop. The gift shop has wreaths, ornaments, nativity scene figures, stockings, and pretty much anything else you can think of in terms of Christmas decor. We found a new tree topper during our visit too, which was on our agenda. Every employee we encountered was so kind and friendly! There are selections of fudge, locally made kettle corn, and other snacks available, along with complimentary hot chocolate. Our tree was around $100, which I think is more than real trees offered at super markets, however the experience of the farm and quality of the tree make it an incredible value. Big Tree Plantation holds such a special place in my heart!

Tree shortage. Grown exponentially (very crowded). Those things are all true. However, I’m giving them 5 stars for the amount of compassion and flexibility they were willing to be with my family. Unfortunately, my mother was diagnosed with an incurable disease and scheduled to have surgery the day before opening day. Big Tree emailed me back quickly stating they’d help accommodate our family’s 20+ year tradition. ? We will be back because of their understanding and love - tree shortage or not.

Do not come here to expecting a tree cutting experience for your family! I’ve been coming here for years and this year there were ZERO trees to cut down, after driving 40 minutes specifically for that experience. The staff were not friendly or helpful when I asked where the trees were to cut down, instead stating I should have come sooner in the season. The season just started so that made no sense. What a disappointment and waste of time. The pre-cut trees are so over priced and no better quality that what you can get at any other store. This was the last time I will be returning to big tree and instead will drive the extra distance to Corsi Tree Farm.

We used to love coming to BiG Tree but things have changed in the past 5 years. Now there have been problems with their fields in the past which is not in their control but now there are 0 trees to actually cut down. Everything is is pre cut but the prices have gone up since it’s no longer cut your own. The gift shop is its saving grace and the workers are very nice. Unfortunately this year I had to tie on my own tree as they are no longer allowed to help. This takes quite some time for an inexperienced knot tier and kept me worried most of the drive home.

We love Big Tree! The Fall Fest is great fun and we love spendinga whole day there. We especially like the corn maze! We also get our Christmas Tree every year at Big Tree. We've made it a tradition to pick out our tree on our son's birthday so that makes it extra special. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

We attended the fall festival as a family and had a WONDERFUL time! My 3 kids loved the activities (corn maze, adventure hayride, ax throwing, zipline, and more). Be sure to check out their delicious foods and treats inside the barn, too! Our favorite was the donuts, but their coffee drinks, fudge, kettle corn and other options are great as well. We spent several hours there and had plenty to do. Definitely recommend as a new fall tradition.

We went to Big Tree for an event, and it was so much fun- hay ride, corn maze, hatchet throwing, and AMAZING frozen cider and apple cinnamon donuts. Plus so many fun treats and decor for sale. Highly recommend!

My favorite place to go with our family to celebrate the beginning of fall! Their fresh donuts and coffees can't be beat, and my kids love the hay ride, corn maze, zip lines, and corn pit. This is definitely a family tradition for us!

Very disappointed with the absolutely dry tree we got in 2022. Unbelievable mess moving it out and all during Christmas we could hear the needles dropping. Driest tree ever. Obviously had sat on the truck for months Totally lousy of them to make it seem like you were getting it from their farm.

We visited and bought our tree at the end of November. The process was pretty annoying. We just wanted to buy one of the precut trees. We got told 3 different instructions by 3 different employees. When we finally decided on a tree, we approached an employee and he seemed slightly annoyed that we weren't "doing the process" correctly. Now, the tree was actually kind of brittle as soon as we got it home. We followed all instructions, have kept it watered this entire time, and as of 12-15-22, the tree is COMPLETELY dead. I'm over 40 years old and have never had a single issue with a tree in my life. So, to sum it up, pretty unhappy with the entire experience. We will not be returning and the tree was terrible.

My family and I got our Christmas trees here for years. The last couple of seasons, the tree selection has been abysmal. We don't mind the price for a great experience, but they seem to have outgrown their ability to actually provide that experience. The trees this year would have all been right at home on a charlie brown Christmas special. Even more troubling is that there was no sign of massive fields of saplings or seedlings, making me think that next year will not be much better. If you want a fun Christmas experience, this is a good place. If you want a great tree, you can probably do better.
