I'm always amazed by the lake and the facility here at Deer Creek. They've been doing a full renovation and upgrades for the last few years, but they're finally coming to the end. The amenities at the lodge and conference center are excellent and diverse. The surrounding activities in the state park are awesome. We always bring our boat and love the lake and the beach.

Desk service was rude when inquiring if the room was ready. When it finally was, it was filthy; dead bugs and grime in the bathroom, grass, old cheese wrapper under the bed, half empty carton of milk in the fridge, dirty carpet (not just stained, dust and dirt between furniture), no toiletries, garbage in the hallway. Told the front desk and they handed us some shampoo and conditioner and “took note” of the cleaning issue. For as much as the room costs and if you’re not going to have the room ready until 4 PM, at least make sure it’s clean.

Experience over all was good. But when booked online had added a late check out. Called the 800 number to pay in full as it said phone and internet was down. Was only able to pay in full for the room, was told be able to pay the remainder at the front desk at check in. The lady who checked us in didn't even ask if we still wanted the late check out as I inquired about the remainder owed and she said no that we were good. The lady behind us was asked if she wanted the late check out she'd requested but found it odd we were not offered the same thing. I think check in staff needs to be treating all people the same not ignore if a late check out was requested on someone's and not even ask if they wanted especially when I mentioned the online booking was a little higher than what was already paid doesn't feel like she was listening. Other than that the amenities are good and was a good experience.

I enjoy the outdoor and indoor pool. The outside coukd use more sun chairs.

When we got there, we inspected the room. They were filthy so we went and asked for a different one and the second room was also filthy. Both rooms had dust everywhere. The carpets were not vacuumed. The sheets on all four beds had stains of some kind, either food or make-up. There were scraps of party decorations stuck to the walls and on the beds. One room had a light falling out of the ceiling.We notified them of all of the issues and ended up leaving . They did give us a full refund.

Very nice state lodge. Nice pool, nice view of the lake. Quiet, well maintained. Food is good.

Enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Kids absolutely loved the outdoor and indoor pools, the nearby lake beach was nice too! Service was lacking- they opened check-in for the weekend right at 4 and only one employee served a long line of lodgers who waited. Then coffee in the morning was delayed, so not an ideal experience. Room clean, pleasant, and comfortable. Fitness room had what you needed. Access to fire pits and swing near the boat pier was relaxing at sunset. Early morning visitor to lodge balcony (video below)

My husband & I stayed at the lodge for a weekend getaway. The staff at the front desk, gift shop and restaurant were all very nice. Renovations still in progress. We had a broken outlet in our room and the towel bar fell apart when I put a towel on it. The restaurant food was good. The downside is that the restaurant is closed in the mid-afternoon. We hoped to have a late lunch after doing naturalist activities. We pivoted and got yummy carryout that we took to the beach to eat before another naturalist program.

Great vacation place, close to yo home. Lots of amenities, things to do. Great for kids and adults. Beautiful lake. Camping area is fantastic with boat launch nearby, archery and shooting range plus a very nice golf course! Loved it.

Just went to the restaurant at the lodge while staying at the campground. The dinners were just ok. The portions were small and the price was on the higher side. A 6 ounce sirloin with a couple sides and salmon with a couple sides with two sodas were $70! I don't know how the breakfast and lunch menus are. Not worth the price, but the place was nice with good service.

Nice facility and beautiful area, POORLY managed and maintained. Don’t go in the indoor pool or hot tub. Just don’t. Based on other reviews, the indoor pool had been having problems for a few weeks but management told us it was since resolved. The amount of clumps of hair in the pool that was constantly wrapping around our arms and legs (and even in our suits) was disturbingly unmatched. Then, the final night we were there, we heard maintenance say that the pool pump had been off for A WEEK!!! Also, upon entering our rooms for the first time, I found multiple objects in the middle of the floor and around the room that were not cleaned up from the people before us. The amount this place charges per night is criminal for the fact they cannot even keep the place running up to code or even clean a room. Please go elsewhere!!!
