Our experience in store picking out a new washer and dryer was great. Vinnie was very knowledgeable and helped us pick out our appliances.
The gentleman that installed them were very kind, knowledgeable, quick, and did a great job!
We’re very happy with our new washer and dryer! We will be Herald’s customers for our future appliance purchases.

This company used to be owned by trustworthy individuals that stood behind their word and the products they sold. This garnered a reputation that completely warranted paying slightly higher prices to keep the sales local, instead of going through big box stores.Due to change in ownership, none of that is true anymore. Future purchases will not be through Herald'sUPDATE: Ownership called me, following a customer providing my negative review. Owner's suggested they shouldn't be servicing my GE Cafe Series appliance package if I'm so unhappy with my customer experience. Buyers beware

We purchased a full set of GE cafe appliances from Herald's last year. Our GE cafe dishwasher stopped working within the first year. Herald's told us that the computer board would need replaced (without even coming to look at it.) The dishwasher sat full of water for 3 weeks and they still didn't have the part as it was backordered. The owner's wife informed us she had a brand new dishwasher in the box at the store and we could just swap them out. She then claimed that my husband hurt her feelings because he was frustrated that our $1,800 dishwasher broke so quickly and Herald's was unable to fix it. This turned into TJ calling to threaten me that he wouldn't be providing a new dishwasher or fixing the current one because his wife's feelings were hurt. My husband was never rude or threatening to her on the phone nor did he even raise his voice. They delivered their FLOOR MODEL dishwasher as replacement for what they claimed was the brand new dishwasher. The floor model had scratches all over the front of it and TJ still claimed "it was newer than ours." This was in February and their service department has been out multiple times and that dishwasher is STILL not working properly. The latch is broken and we have a hard time getting the door to stay shut. There is condensation underneath our countertop and on the floor with every cycle ran even after they replaced a seal. TJ clearly doesn't know how to treat his customers and always takes the defense instead of apologizing and trying to remedy the problem. At this point we will likely just have to purchase a new dishwasher because TJ is incredibly rude every time we speak to him and doesn't care to fix the problem. He has never followed up after all of this time to ensure that the dishwasher was working properly. Horrible customer service! We tried to avoid a big box store by shopping here and it was the biggest mistake.

TJ was great when we went to look for a refrigerator! He was so helpful, and helped us get one quickly. The delivery guys were great! They were very nice and did a great job! We will go back and buy other appliances!

These men are absolutely shameless. My grandmother hired then to repair her ice maker since it stopped making ice. They came out and replaced a valve. They charged her $250 dollars and left saying it may or may not resolve the issue. Well lo and behold it didn't and now they want ANOTHER $250 to replace the ice maker part that we said was the issue from the start. I'm disgusted and convinced they did this to my grandmother because she elderly and a easy mark.

A friend of mine bought a washer on my recommendation. In less than a month, the appliance stopped working. The customer service was terrible and the person, Curtis, sent to do the repair was disrespectful, rude, and arrogant. I believe my friend was disrespected because she is a single woman and lives in the west end of Mount Vernon. I am very disappointed and will never refer anyone to Heralds again.

Herald’s is simply one of the best appliance shops in the business. Friendly, knowledgeable, down home service you can’t get at the mega stores that regularly have personal turnover. It’s worth every effort to keep businesses like Herald’s going.

We had an issue with our main refrigerator and went to Lowe's here in our small town. Their solution was to sell us an new refrigerator. I wasn't convinced and called the folks at Herald's. Instead of trying to sell us anything, they put a repairman, Curtis, on the phone. After what I told him about the refrigerator, he diagnosed it and told me he'd order the part and have it installed in a couple of days.Their service, kindness, and professionalism was impeccable. The refrigerator is humming along for about 7% of what I would have paid for a new refrigerator.If you live in the Mount Vernon, Ohio and surrounding area, and you need a repairman, or a second opinion, come to Herald's. They'll treat you right.
