The paninis need a rebranding—maybe call them a melt. The bread is not great and they are not prepared in a panini press. Coffee and chai good.

Perfect place to work remote from, quiet calming atmosphere in a college town. The breakfast sourdough sausage sandwich was super yummy! I wouldn’t recommend the avocado toast it was a little underwhelming. The matcha made up for it!

Always stop by a few times when I am in the area visiting family. Service is always great and a very friendly staff. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty tasty. I have tried a few different iced lattes and enjoyed them all. Also like that they do seasonal lattes like their current blueberry crumble.

This coffee shop has the exact vibe I prefer in a coffee shop setting. Have purchased their beans a few times. Their mocha is divine. Love their Highlander Grog as well.

This is a cute, little coffee shop that's very close to Muskingum university. It is difficult to find, but the owners have put an effort into having signs out along Route 40 (one hanging and one sitting on the sidewalk) to help you locate it. My reason for giving 3 stars is 1) they don't greet you when you walk in, and 2) they have Christian music blaring. First, I'm a local, and every single time I've gone into this coffee shop, I am not greeted by any staff. I've walked all the way up to order, stood at the register to order, and have waited to be talked to for several minutes. I understand they're busy, but a simple, "Hello! We'll be with your shortly!" is an easy way for customers to feel seen and welcomed. They don't even do that. Second, I understand we all have our own belief systems and I respect all of them, but I don't feel like playing Christian music at a loud volume is appropriate. If the staff want to listen to that music while they work, they can absolutely have it playing at an appropriate level in the kitchen so they can hear it while they work, but quiet enough that those coming to the coffee shop have a quiet place to study, a quiet place to work or have video/phone conferences, or hold a normal-volume-level conversation with someone. Finally, New Concord is a place that has a lot of diversity, cultures, religions, etc., which means not everyone who goes to Chapman's is a Christian. Playing one-dimensional music that doesn't include or welcome all who enter doesn't feel appropriate.

Chapman's is a nice cozy coffee spot. The layout is a bit cramped but it is great. It is expensive but can be worth it. They have coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks. They also have baked goods, sweet treats, sandwichs, and salads.

I got the peppermint mocha and it was great! The flavor was smooth and got more of the chocolate flavor as I drank it. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, but I recommend coming at a non-peak hour if you’re looking to grab a table. The white chocolate raspberry scone was great too! Most scones are dry, but this one was perfectly moist!
