My family just moved into town and had to go in and file a police report for my husband's social security number being stolen and used to open accounts in Ohio (New Lex & Columbus). The entire staff (who we spoke to) was extremely friendly and eager to assist. The officer we filed the report with AMAZING! He not only did his job with filing the report, but he also suggested some good places that were hiring and helpful organizations for us looking for a house in town. He went above and beyond. He even ignored the fact that our toddler was a little hyperactive during our visit. If you have to go in and talk to an officer for any reason, definitely ask for Officer Ulmer (if he's available). He is by far the nicest officer I have come across living anywhere!Thank you so much for your help with the report and finding good housing and job recommendations Officer Ulmer!

I grew up here and the PD was terrible and corrupt! I return for a family reunion and within 20 minutes of arriving I'm already stopped by the police, held up for an hour, then they confiscate all of my prescription meds and tell me I can ask the prosecutor to return them next week....so here I am,no citations,no criminal activity,3 more days stay and no medication to control my pain.Yup....still the same New Lexington and exactly why I wont return again after this experience.Avoid this place at all costs.

Called for information with the township here in new Lexington was sent to a "village admin" whose phone number didn't work, but for some reason it's not their problem as they laughed. Sorry excuse for a police department.
