Goumas Candyland is a long-time city staple located in downtown Newark across from the courthouse, with additional locations in Heath and Granville. The business has been around for a very long time and is remembered as some of the best candy around. Cases are full of delightful, wonderful, and delectable candies, ranging from chocolate covered Oreos and potato chips to English Toffee, Coconut Haystacks, and a wide range of truffles. They offer one and two pound pre-assorted boxes, and customers can also build their own from the case. Everything is freshly handmade. The staff is helpful, friendly, cheerful, fun, knowledgeable, professional, and top tier. They greet customers right away. While prices are high for chocolates, they are likely similar to others. This place is highly recommended as a non-negotiable visit for great candy, with consistent quality and service. It is a Newark institution where visitors will not be disappointed and are encouraged to pick up buckeyes. Parking is available directly in front.
