I have been going to Eric at The Auto Pro for over 20 years — since way back when he was on O'Bannon and then at Sixth and Main and now on Mount Vernon Road. He has been reliable and honest for the many, many jobs I've sent his way — and many cars and trucks with big and small jobs. I trust Eric, and Anne is great to work with, too. Whenever anyone on the local social-media marketplaces asks for a good mechanic, I always suggest The Auto Pro.

I've/my Family members and Friends have been going to AutoPro for many years. Eric and staff are always friendly and do excellent work in a timely manner. Eric lets you know what needs to be done and the Price before starting to work on the vehicle.

I had an engine mount on one bolt, coolant leaking like a girl on freaky friday and many other problems including a valve, they brought me in and diagnosed with no bs compared to other shops and spotted things that weren't diagnosed by other locals. Plan on coming back again when my (car/life) breaks down again 💯 yolo weeeb skibbiki toilet?

These guys just saved me over $25,000! No exaggeration.
I live in Michigan, and found a beautiful Nissan Titan pick up truck for sale by a private owner, right in Newark. It had everything I wanted and only 40,000 miles on it.
Since I’m pretty much mechanically ignorant when it comes to vehicles, I thought it would be wise to have somebody check it out thoroughly, Before I bought it.
Before I came down, I called around to local mechanics, And found that Eric and Anne do used car inspections, for only $135, nothing compared to what I could’ve lost.
Eric and his guy thoroughly checked everything, and found an internal oil leak issue, possibly with the main gasket. Eric even had me come into the back while a vehicle was on a lift, showed me the issue, And patiently explained and re-explained what was going on to my surprise. I could see with my own eyes the oil spray on the front of the engine, and it was not far from beginning to drip down on the ground, but the seller never saw the issue.
While I was disappointed that my great deal was no longer just that, I was thankful that the issue was spotted by these experts, and I went home with my $25,000 cash. he explained that could’ve been a job that could take up to 18 hours, and translate to about $2500. A worse case scenario, but I was not prepared to bargain with it.
Eric and his team definitely know their stuff. Even though the location looks a little rough on the outside, don’t let this scare you. These are super friendly people, accommodate those who need to wait in their waiting room, and are extremely fair in their pricing.
I cannot sing their praises enough. These guys are great, and I am so thankful that I found them, and they found the issue before I bought a lemon that I would’ve regretted for years to come.

I had a vehicle in for running issues. They proceeded to have the car for a week, do $500 of repairs on the vehicle with no confirmation from me. I paid the fee giving them the benefit of the doubt thinking it would be better than how I dropped the car off, but the second I pulled my car onto Mt. Vernon road it completely shut off and was worse then it was when I dropped it off.

Erik is a rip off and scam artist, lies about warranties, makes up work to be done that doesn't need done. Horrible place and wouldn't suggest anybody go there
